It's a long time since I last had the top end off my 125LC but if my memory serves me right, if you put it on the wrong way around it sticks out at the rear, as the stud holes aren't an equal distance from the front and back ?.
So, P95 by the looks of it.

Yep as Mutts says, if you've got the bowls on the wrong carbs, then you will have NO choke

Cheers lads, I'll see if I can find something in-stock that's suitable.
They're only £2.36 new from Yamaha, it's just the agg of ordering etc., especially if I've got something here that fits.

can you play in the multistory car park as well, the precinct reverberating with the sound of 2 stroke, would be a nice trip down memory lane The Summers of 84/85, me and a few friends spent many evenings messing around on the first floor of the multi-story car park in Horsham And frequently off down the Southwater bypass for a race both ways In 1984 I would've been on my candy blue Mk1 RD125LC, then my red X7. In 1985 I would've been on my Marsbar 350LC with bright yellow wheels !!!

Me and the misses went about a month ago when they were down in Redhill, Surrey. Had Steve Plater and Michael Rutter just to the left of us in the audience. Yeah was a good night out and well worth the money

Pretty sure the Mk2 has the same wheels as the early TZR125 like I have (18in rear, 16in front) ?. I'm running Metzeler ME22's on mine (100/90-18 & 90/90-16). I ride the bike pretty hard and never had any probs in the dry. Not sure if they are still available new anymore ?. I don't bugger around with tyre sizes on the smaller bikes, nearly always just mucks the handling up

If you must use them, just get a quote on a reg number from any MT09 Tracer ?. I would never insure with them anyway, get a problem and you are f*cked A friend of mine had insurance with them and they wrote to him saying that he hadn't declared an accident he'd previously had, and that he needed to pay a higher premium. He tried repeatedly to tell them he hadn't ever been in any accident in his life, so they had made a mistake. They then told him that he had to "prove" that he hadn't been in an accident (how do you prove that ?). Anyway, without further warning they just teminated his insurance, leaving him without insurance and the only option but to now delcare to future insurance he'd previously had insurance cancelled I know of other's who have been ok until they loose documents you've sent them etc. They might be cheap sometimes but as a rule you get what you pay for

Easiest thing to do is take the exhausts off, and check if the valves are the correct way up and check what they do when they ignition cycle and when the bike is revved.
When the ignition is switched on the valves will cycle and stop in the OPEN position. Then when the bike is started they should moved to the closed position. Then when the bike is revved they should start to move towards the open postion (can't remember exact revs but say 5,000 upwards at a guess).
There are video clips of them working properly on youtube, even where people have strapped a camera pointed to the pulley when the bike is being ridden.
The other thing you could do is check they are the correct way up, then pin them in the fully open position and take it for a ride. Sure it will be crap low down but should go properly in the power band. That will at least tell you if the problem revving is valve/controller related.
Good luck.

That's what I find in my old age lol, riding the MK1 approaching 5,500 thinking "oh here we go again" it gets tiring on a day out, but we loved it as kids couldn't get enough. I will probably do a YPVS conversion on my non-mint MK1 for my retirement Yeah....... the wait before the power comes in on the Mk1 is addictive and the bike is great for a thrash about, but out on a long ride or riding with others where you can't dictate the pace can be very painful. By contrast, the TZR with the YPVS is a really nice ride, comfy all day and still with a great power band (and probably faster than the Mk1)

part of the fun of a 2 stoke the power jump, There's a big difference between the power jump coming in on a 2-stroke and the inability to accelerate at all in any gear above 2nd gear except from 7,000rpm and above. There's plent of power jump with a working YPVS when 26hp comes on tap. I also have a full power 10W MK1 125LC and that fies but is a bit of a pain in the ar*e out of the power band.....lol

They'll be quite a few people from here doing it if the weather is good . There's already a few different threads on here asking about it. Some/most will be meeting at the Halfway House on the A127 in the morning (I'm sure the details will start being discussed on here soon).

I've got an early full power (26hp according to the specs) 2RH/2RK TZR125 with the fully working YPVS. When I first got the bike I wasn't sure the YPVS was working properly, so dissconneted it and tried the bike with the valve pinned open. Oh my god !, it went from being a really nice tractible ride (and pretty fast for a 125), to absolutely flat as a fart unless in the power-band .

Assuming you'll be running the standard airbox and filter then yes, standard 195 main jet should be perfect.
Only thing I do with a standard 12A carb is set the needle position one clip richer (one slot nearer the pointed end). If it still runs clean/ok through the mid-range then leave it there (will be safer), if it splutters through unacceptably then set it back to standard.

How about this Sunday ? There's the Pioneer Brighton Run (pre 1940's) starting from Tattenham Corner (Epsom Race Course) which a few of us will be going to watch all the bikes set off first thing, then dunno where we'll be heading but Boxhill and Newlands are as good as anywhere . We'll be out riding around whatever, so just a thought. Gonna be dry but cold supposedly

You shouldn't need to buy any new jets, just clean them properly I've had them jammed before, you can clean them out if you are careful. I've used Micro drills by hand before. The jets are very soft brass, so you need to be very very careful when doing it.

Could be your problem mate. For the time it will take to clear the pilots and stick the carbs back on it's worth a try.
I'd make sure you clean em out properly, sometimes you can see through them but they are still only half the bore they should be with dried out shite in them. I use special little cleaning pins (very carefully) that with clean them out properly.
And yes check the emulsion tubes, they are often overlooked cos they are out of sight.

rdered genuine yam ones and got to strip off the sidecase and drain fluid and oil again kinda soul destroying plus I got the running hot problem... I'll get there... Like British rail eventually... I know how you feel man. Spent all day yesterday fitting my freshly rebuilt YPVS engine. Had it ready to fire up, only to remember that I'd forgotten to set the clutch free play on the clutch drum centre . So got up today, gearbox oil back out and then everything that removing and refitting the r/h casing envolves. On a positive note, I actually rode it this afternoon for the first time since October last year
