Yeah I know what you mean but what I was meaning was that if/when you were 16 and unrestricted Fizzies were readily available, that's what you had.
I was 16 in 1983, I had an unrestricted Fizzy and so did virtually every 16yr old that could get hold of one.
Move on a few years and there's a new era of moped, all restricted to 30mph but a range of attractive bikes, so the spread of different models across owners was much wider.

You're doing it all wrong. In the Winter, just use your Dining Room as your Lounge, and your Lounge as your Garage

He's normally quite reasonable with his prices considering he's a Trader. On that one, he's talking a load of old tosh for a massively over-priced bike

Yep, deffo a period mod you could fit. Don't ask me if it made any difference, I was 17 at the time and only interested in wheelying everywhere I had them on my (not fitted by me) first 350LC in 1984 Not great pics but you can see it.

Yeah they are cracking bikes, I had a brand new Mk1 in Candy blue in 1983 when I was 17 and have a white 10W Mk1 now, proper good fun.
Can't see them ever being quite as popular as the Fizzy, virtually EVERYONE had a Fizzy at 16 but nowhere near as many 17yr olds had 125LC's ?

As far as I remember it goes on the registration date on the V5c and must be 40yrs old on or before 31st December before the upcoming April 1st.
Make sense ?.
Think yours should have been eligible from April last year ?.
Just take your V5 to the post office, they will scan the barcode and tell you.

I've done a couple now in the last couple of years.
They didn't become Tax free until 1st April 1st of the year they became eligible.
Then on 1st April, I just went to the Post Office, wrote "Historic" in the Taxation class, they took the V5c from me and sent it off and taxed the vehicle for no cost. A week or so later I got the new V5 showing the new Taxation Class.

I just stick Tesco Mineral 10w/40 engine oil in all my smaller 2-strokes. It's 10 weight when it's cold and it ain't gonna get hot inside a fork leg, so will stay 10 weight.....

Weird, cos he still has 18 separate adverts for YB4L-BS batteries, all with multiple units available, yet he claims he doesn't have any ?. I've asked him what he's up to, and if I don't get a satisfactory answer, he can have another negative feedback to go with his others

I've never understood why batteries are so expensive plastic / lead / acid. Not in precious metal territory here 😳 Tis true that but....... if you just think about the manufacturing process to produce the battery, the overheads of the company, packaging and shipping to the re-seller, then advertising costs/fees, then more packaging and shipping costs to ship to the end-user, how does that all happen for £12.99 ?

They do look good value eh. I need a battery for our R1-Z, which from them is £12.99 delivered. Might be worth a punt

Quick pic of mine with overlay fitted. Mines not a show pony, puts a right grin on my chops every time I ride it though. Oh come on Russ, you're obviously just anal about your bikes and don't ride or enjoy them, looking at your clocks, you haven't even done 1 mile yet

Doesn't stop me riding any of my bikes (standard or not) having the binacle looking correct I assume you're making a point that some people are so anal about their bikes they can't enjoy them ?.

The best thing to get rid of the additional writing on the binacles, is not to put another bit of writing over the top that shouldn't be there either, but get a cotton bud (like what you clean your ears out with...lol), dip it in some original T-Cut and very gently rub the writing off Not aimed at you, but, does it really matter? as they still won't look like an original set of clock covers, isn't the writing set out differently? I guess to some it does. For the little effort to rub out the extra text at the bottom and also where it should just have "Oil" written, and then an overlay (as Russpuss said) either the whole binacle, or just the "Oil" text, will make them look exactly the same as the originals, unless looking very very closely On the set I did ages ago, it took no more than 5 mins

Be nice if someone makes a repro that looks something like the original. Every modified seat I've seen before never looks quite right. Either too bulbous at the rear or too thick at the point they curve up
