Cheers Steve !
Bingo , it's a UK one too then
What's it worth LOL
I don't have a needle but is that what the "resting" position is ? You'd need to check the gearing to make sure it's an Mph one ;-)

If you want to pm an email address, I'll send a pic of where the wires should be.

Just blown up you pic to get a better look. The blue and black bulb holder in the bottom slot on the warning panel shouldn't be in there, that is the dash light for the tacho. That bottom slot is for Jap home market bikes.

Just re read the post, the tacho dash light should be in the separate tacho loom, blue and black wires.

You've got all the right wires, just needs tidying up a bit. Warning light loom goes over the inner side of the speedo, speedo dash light and tacho loom go over the inner side of the tacho.

Yes they are same part number. They're pretty easy to strip down.

I bought some oil seals from him on 12th June and the were delivered here on 4th July, not too bad really for a set of half price seals.

It solved mine, it took two hands to pull in before the cable was changed, now spot on.

Used to get them a lot, not had any for ages, but I did change the Sky settings for something else, maybe that sorted it.

Super thread Steve. Great work mate. If people have nice KM speedo dials then can they hold onto them? I ask as Aussie's often need better ones as our sun fades ours. Steve sent me a lovely KM dial for my 31k build to replace the grey faded original, made the bike! Cheers mate! I have some LC ones

I've done quite a few, there are a lot that fit, if they're cheap enough, I'll buy one just to see, XJ900 fit, but the gears are plastic and need a little bit of filing to get the gear in. I'm also looking into getting some gears made up.

Iv had to cut out a holl at the top a few times its not hard just mark out with pen and drill a holl then dremel it out I didn't need to adjust the rad guard, the larger bolts went through ok. If you PM an email address I'll let you have pics.

It's something you could buy genuine new only a few years back too Radiator guards will be next ! Speaking of, can you fit a standard radiator guard on one of these Chinese radiators ? Yes

Hi guy’s thanks for your reply’s. Wasn’t happy with how I’d started the rebuild so took everything back out and checked it all. Anyway started again and all was ok, nice and free until fitting the half moon retaining plate on the selector drum which when tightened up made the drum very difficult to rotate. Do you think that’s right? Ian No, the retaining plate just stops it from moving forward it's not supposed to hold it firm. Is it in all the way at the neutral switch end?

If you get stuck, I can do it. The key must fit into all 3 barrels though, as the barrels have different patterns aswell as the keys.
