Back in the day I worked in a Yamaha main dealer . Mitsui staff told us as a fact that LC alloys can be porous so cannot be used without tubes .
As for tyre sizes , I can only say again that mine handles so much better on standard sizes .
All that over sized tyre has to go somewhere - when it cant go sideways it goes upwards .

I have bought loads of stuff off Bob including 2 wiring harnesses . Never had any problems . I do have a problem with what he wants to charge for postage now that hes put it up again .
What I want to know is this - If this is all new old stock why does it all look so new ? Any opinions ?

If you dont need them again you can cut them off with a 12 inch hacksaw and a pair of tyre levers

The part number is the same on both 1980 and 1982 microfiche . I cant believe that you would ever have any problem .

Acetone works really well . I put a cup full in and gave it a good shake . Drained it out and did it again . The old liner came out in big flakes . Bleedin messy business though !

You could speak to Fahron . He takes his time but does a top job for a fair price .

Be careful what you do here mate . I had nightmares with the DVLA last year trying to register a new frame no. on an existing V5 after a rebuild . After months of messing about ( and two inspections ) dozens of phone calls and visits to my local office I lost the existing Reg no. and had to re register it . I also had to strike out the 4LO frame no. and re stamp it with a new SABTVR no. My advice is to think carefully and have as little as possible to do with the DVLA . Their point of view is that these new rules help stop " ringing " . HTH

I would use the 01 carbs . Yamaha had to do a dealer recall on the 00 . Somebody else will remember the exact details but it involved stopping up one hole with Araldite and opening up another with a 3mm drill . The later type had a factory modification done to them - not by the dealers .

Ive bought various bikes / wheels over the past couple of years . One of my first jobs is to bin the tyres and get new ones . There is no way that I would risk my neck for less than £200 .

The 1AO and 01 are the first and last digits of the part no . The other numbers most likely production run numbers . So plus 1 for Flames comment above ;-)

From my experience a " standard " engine will always be around 1.8mm for the reasons you say . Many tuners say that the magic happens with squish set at under 1mm . Fahron will reprofile a 250 head for you to suit a 350 with pretty good results . Cant help with the base gasket Im afraid .

You probably need to look in the USA . Tony Doukas Racing or Parts Depot ATV on eBay USA . Both do plenty of Banshee carb / inlet spares .

Ive dealt with both those guys . About a year ago I bought some nice stuff at a fair price from Koll . Since then he seems to have gone mad with his prices . I went to see the guy in Guildford and the bike he had for sale . It was a very very early 4LO , early pipes carbs and barrels . Couldnt even start it due to a mouse nest in the airbox . Told me he wanted £3500 for it in one piece or broken up .
