Sounds very much like the 375cc conversion that Fahron does . His work is usually very high quality . It costs about £400 to have done to a 250LC top end that you supply him . You wont have any shortage of takers ( myself included ) if you put them up for sale on here .

There are 2 sets of TZ700 cylinders on eBay right now if you fancy it . Prices arent silly either .

Hi Dennis If you have a look on the RD/RZ Forum there is a great piece by Whymee and nikfubar with photos which explains most aspects of this . If you search for 28mm PWK tutorial it will come up . Slightly different carbs but same principal .

I cant help with anything electrical but after reading Mutts input in the last andygasgas thread I did some more fine tuning using the backside dyno on my 4LO . My set up is Genuine PWKs with 128 main , 48 pilot , 1 turn out on the screw and JJH needles on middle clip so very close to your set up , although Id like to try it with 125 mains some time . Standard airbox but with 2 x 42mm holes drilled in the lid and air filter in place . Weird but true - it runs much better with the snorkel put back in . And it also dampens the intake roar . The plugs look very nice and Ive had the same ones in for about 2000 miles . I also have spannies and banshee coils fitted .
I dont know what fuel you are using but Ive found PWKs to be very fussy about it . My bike didnt like any "standard" type petrol at all with 95 RON and I only use 97 RON . That combined with the snorkel replacement were the biggest help to cure a midrange hesitancy .

I got one done by NK Racing and Im pretty sure he said that its from a yz125 . Its got 4DB cast into it if that helps . He charges £125 . You give him a knuckle and he supplies and machines the lever to fit it . I got one off eBay for £8 . I cant get a vernier on it to measure the shaft diameter so cant give you that . They do look nice , very short with only about 20mm clearance to the clutch cover . I used to have a 3MA item on there which also work well .

Im no expert but two questions
If they are off a 4 stroke are they suitable ? Will they actually fit . ie will those flanges come off the inlet side and if they do what o/d is left to go in the inlet rubbers ?

I have non standard wheels on my 4LO - 1.85 front and 2.15 rear . I tried standard size BT45s on it and didnt like them at all , it was twitchy and they wore in a weird way . Earlier this year I switched to standard size Avon Roadriders and its transformed the handling .

There is a thread on the RD / RZ 500 forum which nicfubar contributed to called DIY 28mm PWK Tutorial . Sorry I dont know how to put a link up . Really easy to follow and all the info you need . If you dont want to drill your carbs yourself you can speak to Muttsnuts on here or Allens Performance . Allens do all the jets and spares for them . Allens will swap the idle screw over to the other side on one of them as well so you can adjust them . Mutts might also be able to do this for you but Im not sure , you would have to speak to him .

I dont know how long ago Nigel last used Collins but I took some exhausts there in June to get them Nickel plated . They promised me a turnaround time of maximum 3 weeks , more likely 2 weeks . I went there 3 times and rang them 4 times , always the same bull about next week . After 8 weeks I went to get them back ( still not done ) and got a very frosty reception . Up to you but I wouldnt ever recommend them .

I stripped mine a couple of weeks ago to try to solve a similar problem . I bought a new Gear Selector Shaft from Norbo as a precaution but when I was swapping over the spring and collar I noticed how much the pin had worn the spring which allows the selector to slop about when you try to select gear . I have a few about so I fitted the best one with no wear . After that a Shift Pro from Martin at MBD . Refitted everything and filled it with Rock Oil mineral 10 - 40 and it works like a dream . It might be worth a look at yours when you strip it .

I did have similar problems with mine . Bob Farnham tune , PWKs , Martin 77 pipes and OEM airbox with snorkel removed . It wouldnt pull cleanly through from about 5000 same as you with 130 mains fitted . After a lot of experimenting Im at 125 mains , JJH needles middle clip and 42 pilots 1.5 turns out . I also drilled 2 x 32mm holes in the Airbox lid . Its going on a Dyno soon to fine tune but I feel its pretty close . It revs really cleanly now with usable power from about 2500 to 10000 ( my poor crank ! ) with a lovely power surge about 5500 . I dont know if its just me but the pilots on the Keihins seem to affect a much larger rev range than on the Mikunis .

All you need is a short length of fuel pipe and 2 clips . There is a knack to getting it on both carbs . I wouldnt run the bike without it on . That carb gets fuel from the vertical spigot same as the left one .

I saw the swingarm that Dusty sold OEB and really fancied one myself . Two weeks ago I phoned Metmachex to get a price . Dean picked up the phone and spoke to me . Right from the start he was as moody and unhelpful as he could be . Even claimed not to know what I meant when I said my bike has a " rear disc conversion " . Then he accused me of already emailing him about it which I havent but he refused to believe me . He told me that it cant be done , even though there are similar arms on their Facebook page . He finished up by saying that I didnt want what Id asked him for , what I needed was an arm to fit RGV wheels in for £715 . I dont think that I will be buying one .
