Am I missing something, or are some people just chancers on eBay?
eBay item number 191318874269 and 360890358306
Purely out of interest, I would make him an offer of £9.25 + £5 post to see if he would even match the price of a new one, but I obviously don't want it anyway.

Chancers, yes that would be right, quick profit and run, do your research ,buy your gear from members or forum recommendations and you end up with new or refurbed gear at decent prices, got access to an account at fowlers now with dealer discount buying NOS at less than e bay prices , couldn't be happier.

problem is that people keep buying from them and thus creating a market for rip off merchants

Some things on EBay are obvious price typos, while others are obviously chancers.
I always have a few searches for the same old things out if interest, YPVS engine is one.
Saw this for £150! eBay item 151603605849
Quite apart from the fact I would be tempted unless desperate to class this as scrap due to the fact that the cases are a bored matched pair, most cases I've seen go for around £100 for both halves.
His tuning fork clutch cover plate is also nearly double what I paid from the manufacturer of these.

A lot of them seem to have got on the Lc ' YPVS band wagon and trying there luck need to do your homework I needed two washers (the stepped ones) for the exhaust mounting for my 31k there's a pair of well used ones on eBay for £9.95 got a pair of new ones from fowlers for less best to check first if what you want is still available from Yamaha or Norbo before you line the chancers pockets

As I said before, some things are obviously just a typo on eBay.
However this guy seems to have the equivalent of a typo stutter ... eBay item 201301269673

Someone's bought it. I wonder if they arrange to pick it up rather than pay the postage

Ebay item 181703503455
Not only are these foot pegs well overpriced IMO, but they aren't even combining postage for 2!
£276 for a pair of footrests!

Expensive, but have "been polish"............
I don't think that having been Polish should have any effect on their price, unless this cnut is racist.

When i buy something, i tend to take into account the ''surroundings'' chaos, doesn't really make me feel like the machine will be up to much.

Good point. I also dismiss any bike that appears wet in an advert when the driveway is dry. Makes the bike look a whole lot "better". But to me it just looks like a shyster chancing their luck.

I have noticed that seems to happen a lot on fleabay people pulling a fast one you cant beat buying off reputable companies or people you know You have to be carefull with reputable companies as well. I had my 1yr old hornet "serviced" by main dealer near us. A guy there was telling me about gearbox bearing failures they were seeing................................. Got the bike home, checked the "work" done.......The fecking chain was done up so tight it hardly moved.... with force............. The rear spindle was tightened up minus 42ft lb less than it should of been and the cheeky cnut who did the work even took the bike out and gave it a handfull............seen by me. I would not take a fuggin bread bin to be serviced there............they would balls that up too. Much better buying off people you know. If at all possible.
