Hi, Yes, its a bit more complicated ,compared to using a steel rule. I just hate pulling carbs on and of umpteen times. Doing it this way meant that I could fit them with confidence and be fairly sure that the float heights were accurate and that nothing was going to leak, as they had been checked with fuel in them using the clear line method, after setting them with the wee setting tool. As I said above, Elsie is worth it, well I think so anyway. :-) Steven.

Hi John, Yes, that is where I go for my MOT,s, I have been going there for years, its always a good day out going to Sorn. J.D Morton was a friend of my dads, as was Willie Gibson. It was always Jimmy that did my MOT,s, but these days it is obviously "Young James." I met Willie Gibson one day when I was up at Mortons for my MOT a while back and got chatting with him, he asked my name and where I was from, then said "Are you Bobby,s boy ?" ...... I said yes. I was amazed at Willies Gibson,s 250 2 stroke (NS/ NSR ?) with the clutch AND the brake on the right hand side, due to his paralysed left arm, he must have been well into retirement when I met him. Willie Gibson told me that my dad and them used to race locally at Prestwick and Turnberry, he also told me that they used to do racing or hill climbing at Cumnock ? but I dont know exactly where that took place. Willie told me that he worked beside my dad at Massey Fergusons in Kilmarnock, and that one day, when Willies bike was off the road, my dad gave Willie a lift home on the back of his bike... Willie said that the only time he was ever scared on a motorbike was when he was sitting on the back of my dad ! :-) Steven. www.iomtt.com/tt-database/competitors?ride_id=1593www.iomtt.com/tt-database/events/races?meet_code=ALL&ride_id=5722en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1956_Isle_of_Man_TTwww.trialscentral.com/news-archive/uk-trials-news/7290-jimmy-morton

Hi, Id say it is only a dirt/dust seal. The sealing face is the rubber bit on the end of the plunger, which opens or closes a hole/drilling/passage in the carb. Steven.

Went out for a short spin on the 250 powered LC. Got nicked for speeding. The police clocked me at 154 kmh in a 100 zone. With correction it came just under the 150 limit. Above this is an automatic ban. Phew! Fu**in Hooligan !
