Did you need to make provision for the end of the water pump shaft Steven ? The circular hole in the crankcase on the water cooled engines ? Dusty Hi Dusty, I honestly cant remember, I didn't convert it, I actually bought it years ago. I still have everything, except the bare A/C engine, which I gave away. I didn't realize it was an A/C bottom end, everything else looked like an LC to me at the time, but the front / engine mounts had been converted to take the A/C engine...this was late 80,s early 90,s Sorry,I don't remember anything about the water pump shaft, and as i said, I gave the engine away. I used the bike for 2 years as a beach bike when I lived on the coast, and it went fine, getting the shite revved out it up and down the beach regularly for a couple of years. Then I stripped bits of it for other things, but i still have the frame and logbook, im sure its the 350 barrels off it thats on my current LC. Sorry I cant be more help, it was a while ago. Steven.

I had an LC with an air cooled bottom end. The LC side casing fits, the air cooled bottom end, and then you can use the LC,s own water pump. You need to machine/drill the top of the air cooled cases, to pass the water pump pipe through. Steven.

Willow looks like a wee smasher. We have a cat called Elsie, Iv posted pics on here in the past of her. When I posted on here about Elsie the cat, it turns out there were/are a few on here with pets called Elsie. Steven.

Hi, Fallopian tubing is quite good as well. Have sent a few apprentices for 3 feet of that, but they always seem to come back empty handed though ! Steven.

...if the earth is flat, why do we have approx 8000 (eight thousand) satellites or more up there ? We would not need satellites if the earth was flat. Steven.

Both 250 and 350 brackets usually have the spacer arms but often broken off. The 250 LH one has an extra nut welded in to support the single horn bracket. As above. It was a 250 LH one I measured. I also have a few with the spacer arms missing. Steven.

I watched some you tube videos on how to pick locks. I made my comb from a ground down hacksaw blade, and made my barrel wrench from a ground down allen key. There were some nice lock picking sets on amazon. My findings were....some locks are easy to pick, others are not. Well worth a try though, nothing to loose. Steven.

Hi, My LC is of 1980 vintage and turned 40 this year. I spoke to the insurance company and the MOT inspector a few months back, I decided that I will still be taking mine for a voluntary MOT in the future. Steven. ps:- and yes, my findings were, you have to wait till its in its 41st year before the tax thing comes into play. rdlccrazy.proboards.com/thread/52528/insurance-mot

I was on furlough for 5 months, then back for a few weeks, then back on furlough then back for a few weeks then back on furlough...then back for half a day, and the apprentice I had working with me got contacted from a friend of his, who got caught by the track and trace, so I had to self isolate for a week. Went back on Monday, and I think thats me back to normal now ? As soon as we walk in the main gate now, we all get our temperature taken by the security guards, if your above 37.8 deg C you get sent home to self isolate and get a test. Already been people made redundant where I work, and more to be made redundant in the new year. I always keep my self busy, wheather on furlough or not, never enough hours in the day to acheive everything I want to. I used to do a fair bit of shooting years ago, but dont now, I even had to give up my air rifle, which is also now gone. I have become quite proficient with my catapult over lockdown, shooting at tin cans in the garden. Steven.

Standard-ish for me too. Mine is by no means standard, but standardish, and I deffo dont have an olive green fetish. I spoke to a judge at a bike show once, and he said the fact that I used all S/S fasteners, would get marks taken off if it was in a show. I have old style microns and allspeeds and YPVS pipes, but the best set of exhausts I had when I built it was a standard set, so thats what I used. I like the standard colour schemes too. Steven.

Hi, My brother had a Fizzie for the fileds, that was a wreck ! We both progressed to riding it on the road, with a Tandy torch taped to the front of it at night, when the roads were quiet, laying flat on the tank, to see how fast we could get it to go. SOMETIMES we even threw some oil in the petrol tank, if we found any laying about in my dads shed. We were not old enough to even be on the roads ! My mother caught us, and went raj at us ! My first legal bike for the roads was a white DT 125 (A407XCS), which I passed my test on. A year or two later, my mate and I were in Oban, I was on my first 350 LC, which I bought after selling my DT 125. Parked in the street was my old DT 125, as we were standing looking at it, a wee boy came up and started blethering, it was his, it wasnt who I had sold it to, but it was good to see it again. Steven.

...40 odd miles. Weather was dry but cold. Went to Troon, watched the seals in the harbour, had chips and a coffee. Came home and washed it ready for its hybernation. That must be the last run of the year I would imagine Steven.

Hi, My prefered gasket gloop is Hylomar. Interesting reading if you read up on who developed it and who uses it. A wipe with a rag soaked in thinners also removes any excess. Steven. hylomar.com/hylomar/
