If it’s anything like half the other tat they sell, it’ll burn out your ignition and harness, set fire to your bike then torch your garage. I use one on my bikes ( not shambits) they are a good idea but I wouldn’t buy anything from them.

I’ve had optimate 3 for years with no problems, around £ 48-49 on ebay👍

I’ve used an Oxford Oximiser 900 on a few of my diesels over last couple of years, does the job and reasonably priced.

I had 5 Oxford digital chargers, but only 2 remain working.... My Optimate chargers have never died.

I've had Optimate and Accumate chargers for years and within the last couple of years have bought an Ultimate Speed from Lidl and an AutoXS from Aldi (£12.99 each) and they all seem do an equally good job across the bikes, car and even my big van.

The Lidl / Aldi chargers work well. I like that the newer ones have a voltage display too.
I have a few Optimates, CTeks also. The CTEKs tend to be the least reliable for me, despite costing the most.
They all will dry out the acid in the tiny RD batteries, so don't leave them always connected. Larger four stroke 12Ah batteries are ok for a lot longer.

It's a good point, some seem to think it's ok to leave them on trickle charge 24/7 but it does dry lead acid batteries out and definitely shortens the life of other types.
I tend to connect them up every couple of weeks or so, and disconnect them when they show fully charged.

Good tips thanks, I didn't realise they will dry out smaller the batteries. I had a Lidl on on my car and it only lasted a week

The Lidl Ultimate Speed's are best value when they come up but they are only 3.8amp, so not really beefy enough for regular car/van battery charging

Yeah, that's the Lidl one that is £13 when they have it. Works well.

Hi Guys I am thinking of getting a trickle charger from Yambits. Are they good and reliable? Does anyone one use one ? Thanks I found that it killed the battery by evaporating the acid in the RD battery if permentaly connected { goes for any trickle charger }

I've always used Optimates on my bikes and car, never failed. Interesting comments about drying out batteries, or shortening their life, when leaving them on charge, as my Fazer is always connected when not being ridden and I'm only on my third battery in nearly 20 years.

House up the road from me burnt to the ground a few months back as the lad was charging his electric bike in the garage overnight and the charger went haywire.
Ok, chinese litium batt and charger, but well... I never leave any battery charging over night. Havent for years.
I run CTEK (car and bike) and have a 25 year old bike Optimate I think i got from M&P. Had Aldi chargers as well, but something means they always die.
I have an Autoflow unit (rebranded by Lotus) that came as a factory option with my Elise which i use for cars. The plug broke early on (haha how 'Lotus'!) and I contacted the guy who made them and he sent me another set (his last ones!). But that broke too pretty quickly as it was too delicate a plug. In the end I needed it with a longer lead and a cigarette lighter connection for a TVR (never let one go flat, the battery is in the front wing and hard to get to) and as the shops were closed I delved into my boxes and found an old Flymo extension that had been cut (by the flymo... weve all done that right... shocks you every time the blade passes the cut lol) and the plug off some kind of cheap light or something thing. Soldered the joints and used it for a while... when the TVR went I cut the ciggie plug off and put on some croc clips. That was 15+ years back and I still use it for cars on the driveway, works like a champ. lol
