after rebuild i run the bike with out water in it, let it cool then nip the bolts up again and fill with coolant, never had a bike leak!
if its a copper gasket, drain the fluid, anneal the gasket, retry it!

maybe a tad under half way, but thats stood in traffic on a hot day, never had over heating, best part about the waterless stuff it doesnt get hot spots either, thats what destroys engines, its called Nucleate Boiling (water turns to steam)
and no over boil, you can undo the rad cap after riding and you dont get a big spray of water as there isnt any steam build up
amazing stuff!

a good tip for copper head gaskets is to run it without water for a bit, let it cool the retorque, then fill! if you have a used one, you can reanneal using a heat and reuse it!
a cheap alternative for a pressure test is to get some testube rubber caps (ebay)they come in many sizes, get a one way valve with a compressor gauge(ebay) and plug the other orifices and use a bicycle pump, mine cost less than 10 dabs to make!

get your parts from alens performance at least youl get proper parts

well assome of you know my bike is running, however....
ive got a small electrical problem, i can use the key to turn the bike on, start it, no probs
come to turn it it off, it remains running, hit the kill switch and she turns off, ive replaced the ignition thinking it may be that however the problem persists, am i right in thinking its a ground?
ive checked my wiring and all seems ok, the loom has had been modified the run the r6 back end light, i have added a switch direct to the battery as even though the key is off im sure its still using the battery and will go flat after a day or 2
im at a bit of a loss, so i need some help!!

its always worth over jetting the pilot when running premix, this will stop the engine running dry when off the throttle
pumps are crude things, if you ride around with a bottle of 2smoke and make notes of how much fuel you put in and try to add the right amount of oil every time you fill up, youll defo run lean at some point lol

|
|
Post by muddyfox on Apr 7, 2016 12:05:08 GMT 1
it would be if you run say 50/1 and your jetted for 32/1 youll have problems, thats why you always start with needle in the middle and work from there, your jets will need to be in the ball park to get it running right, ie no flat spots and burbles under 1/3 throttle
the pump cable needs to 13.2cm from nipple to sleeve, if you dont have the right lenth youll never get it setup right,

if you run premix you need to jet for the fuel to oil ratio, and yes to much makes you run lean!!

hello chaps im after a throttle cable to fit my ypvs project, the throttle cable on this bike snapped, ive bought a cable for a N model which is what this bike is, however the 2 ends that lead to the carbs are way to short, the lenth on the cable that snapped is 45cm and the N model on is just 2 short as the noodle on the TM's are inline with frame crossmember hence the long lenth sleeves
im desparate for some info!!!!

Does sound like a timing issue. I got the same on my LC when I had my old setting in my Zeel. I remeber we had to change the lowest timing setting to ease the issue.
