I agree with keeping local businesses alive but holy crap some don't help themselves
I was short of 2 copper washers for my brake lines so instead of ordering off Ebay I thought as I was in Glasgow I would pop in to one of the dealers and buy a couple
Was near enough passing a Suzuki dealer so I popped in and here's how it went
"I'm looking for some copper brake line washers"
How many do you need
"Give me four"
I think they are quite expensive, £2.50 each
"Yeh whit! It's a copper washer"
He pops up stairs then comes back and says "I can do them for £1.50 each"
Went to all the effort of going in the shop I say " well I'm only taking 2 then as the others were for spares but not at that price"
I hand him £3 and he tries to soften it by giving me 3. f**kIN 3!!
Could he not just gave me the 4. There £2.99 posted for 10 on Ebay.
I know he has overheads but FFS its ripping the pish
Rant over.

Scotsman tighter than a nun's chuff shocker, surprised he didn't rip you off.
No offense intended towards those north of the border.

Not local to me, but i told Fowlers this week to screw their back orders. Tried to charge me an additional £3.00 + postage for back order parts: a nut and a carb nozzle. I asked them, doesn't a customer of 20 odd years count? Once it did- not now.

Sounds cheap for genuine Suzuki Nos parts Lol, now that I would have understood. If I'd bought genuine yam ones from fowler I'd expect them in yam bags with a price to suit but they were loose out a box of them so cheap as chips. Steve

I haven't even walked into a main dealer now for years, just use my friendly little local bike shop (owned by a proper biker), and the internet of course.

There are No yama dealers left in My city. ALL gone. Alegedly Yama became problematic to deal with, customers were scarce and profits were low. Someone should tell Yama san his Empire is dying.

You could have made a tasty profit by selling them on eBay as "Genuine NOS LC copper brake washers" for £5 each. Someone plonka would buy them. :-)

Long gone are the days you could spend a saturday morning looking at bike shops in Glasgow, many an hour was spent on Great western road as a spotty youth looking for good deal i don't think there's even any breakers left now.
