If you are using VJ22 forks as well use a VJ22 speedo drive, also an RGV cable will attach to LC clocks, no prob

Wheels look great Dusty. Interesting about the Tyga hanger not fitting!! Mine had a different fitting problem if you remember, yet when i spoke to Tyga, they had "never had any problems before", must be just you and me!
Also the side stand spring, really! Don't these people test their products, unbelievable!
Still, looking good cannot wait to see the engine in!

Hi Stasky
just a thought but is your clutch cable ok, i had a similar problem and i had to keep adjusting the clutch cable adjustment, i could not work out what was wrong, UNTIL i noticed the cable was slowwwwly fraying and getting slacker and slacker each time i used it, every gear change etc, so i kept adjusting etc etc.
It was instantly fixed with a new Gen cable
Good luck

They 'pop up' on terrestrial TV every now an then, the first one was on a couple of weeks ago during 'lock-down'.
There are also two other great docs called, i think 'When superbikes ruled the world' about world superbikes with Foggy etc. and one called 'When playboys ruled the world' about the year '76?' when Hunt was F1 world champ and Sheene 500cc world champ, all really fantastic docs, funny too and full of nostalgia!

Hi Bodgerbedge
I am no mechanic, but having read your post, i really really think you should get an air filter, air box lid and snorkel before you do anything else. The bike will be running way too lean if you are using standard jetting and it will seize eventually. The bike is designed to use that jetting with a complete air box, not having/removing the air box/filter will have a massive effect on how the bike performs, but you must jet accordingly.
You say the bike goes well at high revs which it will but it will be brief! There is no point adjusting/tweaking other things until you have a complete airbox, unless you really understand the jetting side of things.
Also i once spoke to Stan Stephens and he said you really need the carbs marked '4LO 01' the others never worked properly and are early versions.
Hope you don't mind these comments, I don't mean to cause offence, just trying to help you having to sort more problems

There are battery powered temp gauges, hope this link works trailtechproducts.co.uk/acatalog/Hour_Meter.htmlI use these on my hybrids, they are excellent, very neat and small. I plumbed it in to the hose from the head to the rad as that is where the water is coming out of the engine. Obviously you need to cut the hose and insert the sender, i think you need the 25mm sender and a couple more jubilee clips. HTH Mouse

I quite agree. These days it seems really hard to get someone to just do what you pay them to do, properly and for an agreed price. Arrow does this and then some, his work and service is exemplary, it is such a shame that more people don't operate like him, i think we two stroke riders are very lucky!
All the best Arrow and thank you!

Think it's just bad luck mate If the tacho has just stopped working check that the needle is not stuck to the stop The needle rests are rubber and get tacky with age causing the needle to stick May just be the heat that has done it 🤞 Steve No Steve, it was working but then started making a loud clicking noise, still working, then started being 'stuttery' in the needles movement. When i fitted the 'nos' one i had it seemed the old one was also under reading by 500rpm! I don't know if it is repairable? Mouse

Owned my 31k hybrid for five'ish years now and in that time, the temperature gauge has failed, two speedos have failed (luckily 'Midlife' on this forum performed some magic and converted a KPH one to work in MPH, which it does beautifully, thank you) and yesterday the rev counter failed. Luckily i have spares for all these but are they always this unreliable or is it just bad luck?
As an aside, this weather is fantastic for biking and while i'm not working!!
Cheers Mouse

Thanks all. 2 bolt fixing for the cans and no rivets at the outlet and the outlet stub is welded to a flat plate as per the picture posted by Midlifecrisis (excuse me if i addressed you incorrectly). I had Swarbricks on my '87 F2 back in the 90's which came from Pete Lindermere - is he still in the game? Bl**dy hell, there's a name from the past! I used to know him ages ago, he got out of the bike biz and i think is now in the music biz, but not sure. He had a very highly tuned X7 and also did some tuning work for Jay and Hag when they had their LC's. Mouse

That looks amazing Dusty! What beautiful welding, just as well you went up there as it was not at all a straight forward job. It is nice to know there are some people out there who provide such a good service!

Yep very expensive! Here is a TZ750 at the Classic TT during practic session. He crashed it at the Isle of Man, rebuilt it and went onto the Philip Island Classic a year ago.
That is amazing!! Still a fast bike! Thanks so much for posting, Johnny C Mouse

That is quite shocking (pardon the pun!) But not a great surprise.
I'm not sure, but i don't think the Chinese view copyright in the same way as the rest of the world! Anything seems to be fair game to be ripped off, but quality control....
