If we needed it, of cheap Chinese shite !! This pic was posted on Facebook. The fella riding the bike made contact with his mate whilst racing each other apparently, and damaged his rear shock. His piggy back reservoir broke off to reveal it's not a reservoir at all !!; 86696016_1306191609571938_8496779006207590400_n[1] by dusty miller, on Flickr There's a reason they are a tenth of the price of a decent set of twin piggy backs !! I wondered about those, lots of people seem to use them, cant say I like the appearance anyway. As you say, you get what you pay for...

That is quite shocking (pardon the pun!) But not a great surprise.
I'm not sure, but i don't think the Chinese view copyright in the same way as the rest of the world! Anything seems to be fair game to be ripped off, but quality control....

Cheap is as cheap does. There is always a reason they are so cheap that’s why I never buy there stuff. Well that an their appalling human rights records, forced labour etc but then I’m a hippy lefty ✌️

That's hilarious 😆
Can't say I'm surprised for the reasons everyone else has given
I will maybe buying a pair for the TR just to mock it up so I can get ride height sorted ( don't want to spend £600 on a Maxton set then decide the ride height is wrong)
Would also let me weigh it so the rear shocks and front cartridges are sprung correctly

I have some TEC rear shocks on my Bonneville which look the same , apart from an air valve in the canisters
I had looked at these for a few years before I bought some as I was pretty cynical about something so cheap could be any good !
There were a few issues with the ones that had a dial adjuster at the bottom of the spring but the type I had seemed OK
Been on bike 4 years now and were better than the standard ones

The Chinese copy of the BMW X5 springs to mind. Identical. You can swap the body panels over. BMW sued, in China of course...and lost. Alex Though wny you would want a fake off roader that is flummoxed by damp grass is beyond me

What the F**k.... I guess you have to laugh really... Buy cheap buy twice... Buy nice, or buy twice! It rhymes! ... and I will add, the RFY brand Chinese piggyback res shocks are actually not bad(ish), and the rezzie does function as intended. At least that's true for the genuine ones

I remember that and the absolute blatant copies they built but from memory they don’t have the build quality or crash resistance of the clones vehicles. The new MGs tell you all you need to know about the build and crash resistance.

If you take your I phone apart, how many of the components are Chinese made? All of it in Apple ones? Business does not give a hoot about sweat shops and the like. All they care about is profit and shareholders... not all of them but ones that do give a hoot are rare. China will produce top quality goods (already do in some sectors) They will become the force majeure in manufacturing (if they aint already} All the individual can do is decide where they buy from and more pertinently where they will not buy from. Oppressors of women and differing sexuality don't get my conkers.
What I find absolutely disgusting is businesses closing down here and shipping everything elsewhere.. then being allowed to flog their wares back here..(all the tech and knowhow now in other hands who will make use of it in other fields)

Look at all the major british manufacturers pretty much all owned by foreign companies now i find it a real shame that we couldn't seem to make them profitable yet in foreign hands they all appear healthy, Mini, Jaguar land rover , rolls royce, bentley, steel, etc etc etc we are becoming if not already a service sector economy then when we do have new projects we let them go to tender and foreign companies win, now i am not saying we should load the dice but that is precisely what others do, just a real shame. Nuclear plants, HS2, 5G infrastructure, most of our aerospace industry. I am a globalist to a point and up to when it hurts our economy or is completely counter intuitive, still when you have MP's taking back handers and gratis trips to some fairy land resort what can you expect.
