Thanks for the input guys... I will continue my quest to find a replacement. It's an LC2 switch gear, I probably have a spare, I know that I have a pair - not sure about an individual, won't be able to check until Friday.

I’ll have a used one if that’s what you need. How much are you after for it? Also, I'm in Australia, would you post? I'll get a post price in a couple of days for you and see if its cost effective.

Most people will advise to do a leak test, 9000km isn’t much but the engine - if it hasn’t been apart, is over 35 years old

I sold one from my lads Civic last month, kept it after he put a de-cat on the car, didn't think much about it when he sold the car but we've been selling the odds and sods left over from it, the Cat went for nearly £600 on ebay....................

Go through the connections, there aren’t that many, one will be dodgy, if they were previously fine and nothing else has been done , oh and check the battery’s okay too.

Plenty of threads about re-stamping try a search.
Only a few reasons to re-stamp, stolen recovered and insurance / police re-stamped it. Non matching numbered cases that someone has filed then re-stamped to retain numbers - illegal.
Normally most just swapped the engine and left as non matching numbers (back in the day)
Either way if its been re-stamped you'd need to know why and who's done it otherwise without paperwork to verify its treated as stolen.

Don’t get WD40 near the plastic Dial faces either as that will remove the images too.

Spray some WD40 or the like around the seal area and twist it to break the seal then press out using something plastic, or a wooden lollipop stick.

I don’t think it’s F2 or R type tank either, more likely some 2MA or 3MA style, you can see why he thought it was 31K though - aside from the filler cap and underside fixings being different.

Hi all, Has anyone got an accurate measurement of the thickness of a genuine YPVS gasket after it has been fitted and compressed? Jon There's lots of gaskets to choose from...............assume you mean Head Gasket?

That’s a lot of parts gone through with no result, is it actually overheating or is the sender / gauge temperamental?

I did. Could not find the right hand side bushing though. Only the other 3... That one is NLA so you won't find it - well not too easily they do crop us now and again.

The only differences I recall seeing is that the rubber is sometimes different - in the number of ribs in them and the spacing, just something to check when they arrive.

Hi Steve, Simon Thank you for that info Could I push the friendship and ask for an overall length of the body and stalk, at least then I’ll know where we are measuring to and from My measurements were from the end of the rubber stalk to the base of the body Thank you Howard End to end - rears are 145mm, fronts are 180mm, mine are end of the rubber stalk to the outer end of the indicator, it’s difficult to measure the fronts in situ.

Fronts are around 70mm and the rears are around 40mm, measurements are just the rubber flexible parts.

First UK LC2 I recall seeing with a steering lock on the headstock🤔 Looks like a mishmash with the clocks and their mounting bracket too. Lots more and waaaaaaay overpriced.

Does seem a lot, but it will have your VIN number in it so maybe they are charging for having to produce it 'on spec' etc. I would easily pay £30 for a tin pressed one but just to change the vin No on a computer printer programme seems a lot ZiG There’s pressed metal VIN tags on eBay do a bit of a search and see.

You can only piss with the c##k you’ve got if kojaycat has shut up shop yambits is your next option you can buy the round pins and fit them to the block If that’s the case then the better option would be to replace both sides with a different plug / socket pair, using the non round Yambits ones on this application is asking for trouble in my opinion, you don’t see many burnt out connections on these looms, the one common place that you do regularly see burn issues is on this stator plug.
