I had one, same colour as yours. It was great, much better quality of finish than the Jap ones, especially the fairing, at least the lights fit the holes properly, unlike the F2.
It had been unrestricted by the previous owner, just a case of removing the exhaust restrictors. Compression is a bit less, to cope with Brazillian plant based fuel, but didn't seem to affect how it ran.
Only gripe I had was the white wheels, not a great choice on a chain driven 2-stroke.
Sold mine in '99 for a Ducati - what a mistake.

Just put myself on. Lincoln / Lincolnshire looks a bit empty.

What size tyre have you got on that KR1s rear wheel?
140's proving hard to find, & I reckon a 150 won't go in my JMC swinger. I think the KR1s swinger takes a 150 though.

It may help to give us a clue what sort of bike you have.
If it's a 350 Yamaha water cooled 2 stroke twin, then the ignition is self generating and you won't find +12v on any ignition related wire without the engine turning over.

Marvin the marvelous mini, it was either a cooper s or a lotus elise but i couldn't live with the lotus day in day out. i have to say i love the mini, i didn't realise they are 175bhp and how much kit you get in them. My Mrs has a bright yellow Cooper (not s), fully loaded by original owner. It's a surprisingly nice car & good fun to drive.

Well, just to add a bit of a positive slant to this, I'm an IT contractor for the defence industries & there seems to be loads of work around in my area.
Sadly I'm working away from home at the moment, living in digs 4 nights a week, but for £44 an hour, I can put up with it.

I live in Lincoln, but have picked up 6 months work in Newport, S.Wales.
Couldn't face B&B, so have taken a room in a shared house, I'm only there 4 nights a week.
Just as well it pays well

My hybrid came with them on.
Didn't like them myself, flogged them to Kenny (TSA) of this manor, if I remember correctly.
Biggest prob is the lack of temp gauge.

I have an NPT tapered tap & it fits perfectly. Used it to clean out a few heads after having them powdercoated.
The commonly used landy temp sender then screws in nicely.

I think you will find most pipes will be hung off the rearset mounting points similar to this OEB Was going to post a pic of mine, but too late.

I've got an FZR250 2KR rear wheel in my valve, and valve sprockets bolt straight on, if that's any help.

I guess it's a FZR250 turned into a race rep. Sammy Miller has one, on 4 open pipes like that, sounds glorious, helped by the 18,500 red line.
My mate had a 3LN - rev tastic.

Looked at the LC & wondered when I'll get round to putting the Triumph gearbox back together. Too cold outside, I need to get on & build the workshop.

I went yesterday & bought a concrete mixer & a few bike consumables.
1st time I've been for years, I've recently moved so it's 15 mins away for me now.
Lots of tools / engineering stuff, usual dross for bikes.
Mixer was a bargain though, £40 for a Belle 130.
Got it home, expecting the worst, but plugged it in & works a treat.

For the minor cost, put the correct rad guard on it.
I prefer them naked, as the F2 fairing is pants. I did like the fairing on my R, as at least the headlights fit properly

Might be the battery... The rectifier / regulator needs a decent 12V reference, to allow it to judge how much of the alternator output to send to charge the battery & how much to dump as heat.
If the battery is 0V and won't take a charge, this can confuse the r/r and it could be drawing max current from the alternator, trying to charge the battery, for what they cost, either charge yours, or replace.

the external mesurment is to small altough the fit round the pin is good. i reckon about 1 mm slop in the rod,,, mmmmmmmmmmmm not good , i guess if doing this for the first time it might have gone unoticed by somone, just shows that double checking all parts even when coming from a good source need to be double checked although on start up it would have been very apparent albeit i wouldnt think for very long . PJME supplied me (by mistake) with exactly the same wrong little ends a while back. The ID is correct but the OD is 1mm undersize. I can't remember what they are the correct bearing for...but not Yamaha.

It is possible to break a superdream as well, I bent one of the forked rockers that opened the 2 inlet valves, so one valve stuck open & said hello to Mr Piston......
A superdream is an appliance, whereas a 2-stroke is a proper bike.
Get it built & set-up properly & it will be as reliable as a Honda. In the last few years I've ridden an F2 round France & taken my Hybrid to John O'Groats from Sussex, including 3 track sessions at the festival of 1,000 bikes on the way back. No problems apart from an exhaust hanger shearing, and I'd made that, not Yamaha.
I'd pull my hybrid out of the garage tomorrow & go anywhere, without any more reliability worries than any other 30 year old bike, 2 or 4 stroke.
