Lidls finest throwovers.
I've made a frame out of copper waterpipe & insulation that sits over the pillion seat, to stop them flapping in & touching the wheel.

thanks for the reply ,did you have any issuses routing the loom and mounting the fuse box etc ? Nope, all relatively easy. I have the fusebox behind the LH side panel and the R/R mounted under the rear mudguard, where it picks up a bit of cooling wind. My loom is a bit hacked about though, many a non - standard connector, so it may be a bit more difficult if you have a good standard loom & don't want to make the odd change here and there, but it's not rocket science. Hardest bit lately has been fitting LED indicators & making the dash light (only 1 on my N2 clocks) behave properly, without having to resort to the terrible bodge of putting resistors across the bulbs. Did it with 2 diodes and a bit of rewiring.

I'm running F2 loom, switches, clocks etc.
The LC rad doesn't have the same pipework arrangement as a valve, as it has no thermostat as standard.
So on the valve head you can blank the bypass hose off & drill a 3mm or so hole in the stat to compensate. It's just to allow a bit of water to flow whilst the engine is warming up, but the stat is closed.

I thought I'd bounce a question at you all, that I've been thinking of doing for some time, and thats a three cylinder LC. I seem to remember that years ago there were a few around, and I think Stan Stephens built one, but I've been searcing the web for ages now, and I can't find any build info on them. Had anybody got any ideas or build info on these things, please? Cheers Dave I'd start at Mattoon - assuming plenty deep pockets mattoonmachine.com/Billet_Cases.html

I didn't think we were riding that steadily, but I didn't go onto reserve until 144 miles. And the rain stopped. Result.

Did you strip both carbs?
If so, did you get the float bowls back the right way round?

1289 miles. lots of sun, after the first 2 days
Only casualties are 1 indicator bulb & one of the silencers getting a bit loose on the rivets (again)
45 MPG which I'm happy with, and 300 miles per litre of 2 stroke - which seems a bit much.
Pics to follow.

Why do you think a 50 degree stat will make it run cooler? It will just take longer to warm up, the opposite of what you need. Been told ideal running temp for a stroker is 50 - 55 degrees so trying to get it running cooler and more constant. At the moment when started you can get some heat in the engine before running but over the first mile temp gauge rises to 3/4 before stat opens which then floods the motor with cool water so temp plummets again so not ideal. Trying to get it to open earlier and get a smoother heat build up with no sudden changes. Also a radiator will only dissipate so much heat so if the incoming water it 70 degrees it will only cool by say 20 degrees so if the incoming temp is reduced then so will the outlet hence cooler running. Steve I think you'll be disappointed. the engine produces a certain amount of heat, the radiator can dissipate a certain amount. So once the system warms up, the stat will be always open & the temp setting on the stat has no effect. However it'll now open earlier whilst warming up, letting cold water in, so warm up will take longer. A more efficient radiator can reduce running temps, could do with one myself, but the stat only affects warm up times. Unless of course you massively overcool it, to the point where it never gets up to a sensible working temperature. I'd have thought you would want to run as hot as possible, for decent efficiency. Yamaha pressurise the system so the coolant can go over 100 degrees C, without boiling. I seem to think 1/2 way on the gauge is around the 85 degrees C. 50 -55 seems way too low to me. Did your source suggest a stat opening of 50 - 55 or a running temp?

Hi, I have a set of "old school" condor microns, and a set of "old school" all speeds. They are not in perfect condition, but are both usable. I researched this my self a while back, I cant confirm this, but my findings were......the microns are not model dependent, ie...there the same for 4L1,s and 4L0,s. I have checked all over my condor microns and there is no model type number anywhere on them. The all speeds were model dependent, and have 250 or 350 stamped on them. My all speeds are stamped RD350LC. Perhaps someone else can confirm that the old condor microns were not model dependent??? Steven. Repeat after me... CODNOR

I've got a HVC one - part of the batch that Drewski got sent from the states.
Mine's fine - that said, still don't have the bike on the road.
I have vague memories of other people having issues, may have been with a later batch.
