Hi Jack, thats good on the can length cheers being 6 inches long they will fit inside the rear trim with the just the spouts sticking out. Would you say the pipes are overly loud and upset the MOT tester, I have been told they are reasonably quiet especially compared to the old microns of yester year.Just twigged the Sheene helmet - nice touch, cheers Rich.

Same as Paul I had a Suzuki X1 bought off a school mate who was 1 year older than me, ran it for a year and sold it to my cousin, I then had a 250 LC when you still have one on L plates at 17yrs old. The X1 was acracking little bike wish I still had it, another mate had one with an micron pipe an holes in the air box done with a red hot poker, up jetted. Still dog slow but incedibaly loud and irratating. Every time he came to our house me old man just stood there shaking his head in disbelief. Youth what a wonderful thing. But then again here we are now mid 40's and still putting pipes on our 2 strokes albeit 350's and 500's. Rich.

Hi Arrow, not as far as i know but have not done a track day myself but considering how many people are doing them on road registered bikes i doubt very much they are running without antifreeze. Same scenario with most race bikes have to run with oil catchment tanks.

Just to add to what rd350r just said if running just with water always drain the water out of the bike in winter when the bike is put away. My brother in law races 3 different bikes and as soon as the season is over he religiously drains all the water out and then fills back up with antifreeze/water mix. Then come race time drains out and puts back in just water - not allowed to run antifreeze in race bikes as slippery if leaks on track. Rich.

Looks very good like the semi naked look, have you any side on shots of the bike complete. Are you running stainless steel bottom pipes and mild steel top pipes, can you tell me the length of the body of the top cans please, I have a set of TSI pipes and need cans but want to keep them short to stay within the standard seat unit, I think they need to be no more than 155mm. Looks like Isle of Man ? Will you be at the Manx this year. Cheers Rich.

Some people make you wonder, the motors not even a powervalve motor, even if it had a powervalve motor that price would be expensive and as Steve said XJ500 clocks whats that all about. Still made me laugh.

I believe that is who Kenny uses when testing his pipes, so I would guess a good bet.

Looks like a good day out and a good turn out. Especially like the 2nd lc with the funky paint job, what pipes are those. Know the last bike is a rgv but and not a lc but well smart all the same. Even the X7 looks good.

This is all a right pain in the arse, best bet would be to contact a local training school for advise. Everytime my missus spoke to some one she got different answers and only when we spoke to an instructor at a training school did we get the correct course of action explained. If you did actually pass your full bike test back in the day then all fine, but if you did not get some proper advise. CBT is around £110 just to get on the road and is a full days course, this will get on the road on a 125cc limited to 15bhp for 2 years in which time you will need to get your full licence or resit the cbt again, I think. Good luck. Rich.

What a coincidence I have been looking at this problem myself for my gammaha using a complete rgv front end and was wondering if to find a rgv speedo or get a set of N style clocks. In an ideal world would like to use original lc clocks but seem to recall somewhere that it will not work on several levels.
Rich.

Looking good, that brake plate must have took some polishing to get looking like that, excellent work. Where did you get those left and right hand threaded rose joints from. Rich.

Hang onto it, only sell if you need the money, thats my way of thinking. Only trouble is sooner or later the garage and shed are full and the loft space is getting full, good job the missus does not go in the loft.

A very nice example. I would have been happy enough to have paid that money for it, especially as it is all there, standard and certainly look in good nick in the photo's. Roll on some salt free roads and some warm sun.

When i rebuilt my 31k for the first time many moons ago it would not start for ages and as noted above I had not connected the little length of pipe between the two carbs. Put pipe on and she fired up straight away - never forgot to connect it since, daft how a little piece of tube can cause so much grief.

There is aguy who regularily posts on ebay who makes them who is based in Gloucester, i think Yambits may do them as well. If my memory serves me right if using a powervalve engine in a lc frame you need a bottle with tapered ends.

Hi have in the loft a full fairing that I had fitted on my 31k back in 1986/87. Cannot remember what the make is though. Rang one of the lads last night as I think he has some photographs of the bike with the full fairing fitted Accepts standard headlight and clocks. Stll have all the frame mounting brackets, fastners (i think), screen brace and ace bars that were supplied with it. Did start to paint it but never finished as not long after stripped what was a perfectly good 2 year old 31k and built a gammaha using a Suzuki Gamma 250 MK3. The Gammaha used the 31k engine with a Stan Stephens stage 3 tune, hytech reeds, modified reed blocks and Stephens/Lomas pipes. The pipes were one of the very first they made for the YPVS and I had to wait for delivery as they used them on their stand at one of the bike shows. The bike went like the proverbial shit off a stick, reved well past 11k no problem. Hard to believe I built that bike back circa 87/88. I still have it some 24 years later all beit in a pretty bad state at the moment. Needs rebuilding, have aload of bits to do it just need to get off my backside and do it.
