Embarrasingly, I had a V50 step through. It was a Yamaha at least, and bought it off my sister

Same as Paul I had a Suzuki X1 bought off a school mate who was 1 year older than me, ran it for a year and sold it to my cousin, I then had a 250 LC when you still have one on L plates at 17yrs old. The X1 was acracking little bike wish I still had it, another mate had one with an micron pipe an holes in the air box done with a red hot poker, up jetted. Still dog slow but incedibaly loud and irratating. Every time he came to our house me old man just stood there shaking his head in disbelief. Youth what a wonderful thing. But then again here we are now mid 40's and still putting pipes on our 2 strokes albeit 350's and 500's. Rich.

I had a TS50ER when I was 16 in 1986. Having ridden bikes for a while as a kid and having a TS125 field bike, it was a bit of a let down and lots of ham-fisted 'tuning' attempts saw it blow up regularly... The only benefit was that as I was a big lad at 16 being 6'4" and about 16 stone, I could pick it up and carry it when it broke down.... ;D Reg

Cool little bikes the AR50 I've got one at the moment that I've been getting on the road to have a laugh on. Just needs another std 80 barrel and carb and it should be rideable. It's had a complete bottom end rebuild and is taxed and MOT'd so almost ready to roll

A norman nippy @ 12 then a purple popsicle @ 16, which was faster than all my mates bikes even after their tuning efforts ( moth balls in tank, drawing pin used to open jets, ect!!) It used to show bang on 50 on the speedo.

i had a tomas A3M. used to carry 2 of us everywere. i know they were only designed for 1 but that big seat and what looked like foot plates made it perfect for taking the girlfriend everywere. used to go thru what seemed like a throttle cable every month. had it about a year then sold it to some kids for use as a field bike

I had a Fizz, UWH974T which was stolen from outside Bolton tech just after I had spent all my money on it to sell it and get something bigger at 17. The insurance ended up paying out £45 after a lot of wrangling. This paid for a micron pipe for my RS100 which i'd had to get on the never-never. I think the payments were £7-odd a week in 1983. Only another three years left to pay...!!!! (-:
