Hi, Trev from Yeovil here, just picked up my first YPVS for 25 years. My first one was a Stan Stephens stage 3 tuned, in loctite colours. Had her for a fantastic 2 months before she was nicked! Anyway up to date: Picked up this 1990 last night and she’s in good general condition (with issues), low miles and matching numbers, it’s really great to have a 2-stroke in the family again. I also run a Bandit 650 and Yamaha XT250. Couple of questions if I may. Can anyone confirm or deny it being an F2? And if it is a F2, beside the cosmetic issue, does anyone see the bike looks “correct”. Or are there some oddities about it that need changing. Thanks

Thanks for your comments and nice welcome. It's so annoying that it's so cold this weekend, because it was such a perfect time to buy it. Wife's on nights so would have had the whole weekend to put my stamp on it! Hopefully next weekend will be warmer.

Well Mike, I think I paid too much! In my defense, it's the only local one I've seen for sale and I felt if I didn't buy it now, I would soon be priced out of the market. I paid £2,051 Though I have to say 2 other chaps bid over £1,800 and after the sale the vendor said he had 11 people emailing him to contact him if I didn't pay! So that makes me feel a bit better. Plus I recon in 2 years time it will be worth £3,000

Yeah, grips wrong and screen looks a bit aftermarket other than that it looks good, welcome! Re price, I just sold identical bike for 1750 but I think I was too cheap. I needed space so I let it go, also I have a red/white one still in garage. Won't let that one go under 2500!!! Enjoy, you only live once.

Hi Faze, from the photos I think you have done OK. I paid over the odds for mine way back when, but, like you, the seller was local and I rode it home. If you are not planning to make a quick buck then the price is ok. First half decent day you get you want to give it a good thrashing ;D and see what the engines doing The only thing I noticed missing is the rubber screen trim, I agree it's probably a had a replacement screen. Is that the original sellers number plate? That's good if it is.

A very nice example. I would have been happy enough to have paid that money for it, especially as it is all there, standard and certainly look in good nick in the photo's. Roll on some salt free roads and some warm sun.
