Hi all,can you advice me on this issue,OK i am a young 40 year old ,anyway back in the day i had rd125 ts125x,which i used and had my full car license,I'm now building some rd125 and mbx125 since been laid off,i now have to ditch the van due to running costs,so i want a run about and was told you now have to take a cbt for a 125,but also got told i could ride a moped without it,how does this work, does it go on cc or HP,if so would a rd80/mbx80 be OK to use without cbt,if it went on bhp. any help would be grateful

This is all a right pain in the arse, best bet would be to contact a local training school for advise. Everytime my missus spoke to some one she got different answers and only when we spoke to an instructor at a training school did we get the correct course of action explained. If you did actually pass your full bike test back in the day then all fine, but if you did not get some proper advise. CBT is around £110 just to get on the road and is a full days course, this will get on the road on a 125cc limited to 15bhp for 2 years in which time you will need to get your full licence or resit the cbt again, I think. Good luck. Rich.
