Doesn't sound normal. It should turn part way in one direction and then back the other way.

Are the plugs wet? Could be fuel leaking past the tap and flooding it.

Being pedantic, a 350N would have had non PJ carbs with 240 mains. N2 would have PJ carbs with 185 main.

I fitted an RGV stat to my hybrid, opens at 52 deg and already has a bypass hole drilled through it as standard. You will have to make a spacer plate for the stat housing as the RGV stat is deeper and hits inside of the head otherwise.

Lucky escape! I'd lap in the flywheel to the crank with some grinding paste to tidy up the taper before you put it back together.

Yes it will be fine. My Yamagamma didn't have tie bars, main reason for them was to stop the standard exhausts cracking but with spring mounted headers it won't be a problem.

Personally I wouldn't use an R1 rear caliper - they are very wide and quite heavy. I used an RS250 Brembo rear caliper on mine and made a custom bracket.

The powervalves are driven by cables from a servomotor under the tank. The servomotor is controlled by a control unit that takes an rpm signal from the CDI unit. The valve opens progressively from approx 5500rpm and is fully open by approx 9500rpm. This does vary depending on which model as the 31K and 1UA bikes have slightly different open/closing rpm curves. BDKs page has some graphs www.bdkraceeng.co.uk/Bike2.html

Google 'bosozuku' The Japs are quite into this sort of thing and unfortunately LCs seem quite popular as a weapon of choice.

Sounds to me like the pipes might be choked up with old oil and shite? Standard jetting should be fine so I wouldn't change anything.
Powerjet carbs should have 185 mains, non powerjet carbs should have 240. Either type should work ok.

It should be loom red to ign. switch red and loom brown to ign. switch brown. The red is the main permanent 12v from the battery and the brown is the switched feed back to the fuse box where it splits into the various circuits.
As above, when the ignition is on, the red and brown are connected in the switch.

It is important to fit a damper properly as it can be dangerous if incorrectly done. Main things to check are:
1) It has a long enough stroke to allow full steering from lock to lock 2) You mount the damper as near as possible to 90 degrees to the fork leg (looking side on) 3) You mount it so the stroke is midway when the steering is straight ahead 4) It doesn't foul anything or interfere with the steering movement

Hi Dave and welcome - good bunch of lads on here N2 headlight won't fit as it's round, RZ250 or 350 will be import so will dip the wrong way. UK model F1 or F2 is what you need, possibly RD500 will fit too. I would keep an eye on Ebay, surely one will turn up. I think you need 25 posts before you can see the classified section on here.

Yep, Baja foam grips!
Apart from the obligatory Micron or Allspeed pipes and Filter/Jet kit can we add Micron fork brace, chrome rad grill, Harpowa or Boyesen reeds (or Hi-Tech if you were poor like me), rearsets, 'LC' 2 tone seat cover, small number plate and cut down mudguard, white tyre lettering, sweat band on the master cylinder.............

Same here - the LC has pull up chokes on both carbs but only ever need a few seconds on the left one if at all.
On the Yamagamma I used a TZR lever mounted on one of the reed block bolts as you couldn't get to the carbs with the fairing fitted.

Yep, same as above - 2 decent straps from the handlebars running outward and slightly forward plus on a trailer I used to put a single strap pulling down from the side grab handle to stop the rear wheel from bouncing around. I've also seen people use those front wheel chock stands in a van and they seem to work very well.

Yes the missing spacer inside the spring would definitely cause the problem! As for the spacer on the sprocket side, all that does is prevent the chain from cutting into the gearchange shaft it if gets too slack.

You need to rotate the gear shafts while selecting the gears otherwise the dogs can't engage properly. Regarding the spring cam, you'll never get it exactly in the middle as there will always be some drag on the gearchange shaft that the return spring cannot overcome. All you can do is get it as near the middle setting as you can.

Real sorry to hear that mate but we've all been there and it really is a sickening feeling. I suggest leaving it covered up for a while, forget about it and come back when you feel better. That's the thing about these bikes, we all know that they can go bang at any time but we love them so we just keep coming back for more.

Hi Dale and welcome. First off, all the YPVS barrels will interchange without any issues. Swarbrick pipes will work ok with standard barrels and carbs too. They are a bit peaky though so you may be better off with a set of Allspeeds as they are a lower revving pipe with better spread of power.

Hey Rich, We might come to the A21 Pembury Layby first as well. I'm just trying to find it on Google maps, so I know where it is. Where abouts exactly in relation to Pembury is it ?, or before/after which A21 junctions ?. Andy, it's the layby on the left at the north end of the Pembury dual carriageway just after the Longfield roundabout. Will hopefully be there about 8.30 Hastings Rd Tunbridge Wells, Kent TN2 4QH
