Chaps,
Does anyone know for sure if the exhaust fitment is the same across all YPVS models (LC2 - F2)
i.e. will LC2 exhausts fit on an F2 and vice-versa ? (I know the factory exhausts are different across the models).
Cheers

Are you saying that it's hot even with the ignition turned off ? (hence why you need to disconnect the battery ?)
Part of the regulators job is to loose any over current generated that isn't used/needed, so with the headlight on for example, the regulator will have less work to do.
They do get hot (hence why you often see them mounted to catch airflow).

Interesting that with Classic bike track days it's "pre 1995 and some later bikes in the spirit of the event" With MSV direct (as this event is) is pre 1994 and that's it

that looks like its had chain damage repair done as well, plus its a very late engine starting with 30xxxx so not a 1980 bike for sure I thought on the 350LC's the first number after the hyphen denoted the year ?, so if the 250's follow the same, then that would be a 1983 engine number (albeit badly stamped) lol ?.

As Rich says, the tiny master cylinder return hole often causes problems. Once you've applied the brakes, if the return hole is blocked, the fluid can't return, so the caliper pistons can't moved back fully. The brakes then bind slightly, then heat starts to build up, and the situation exacerbates Well worth checking, which you can normally do with the master cylinder lid off when applying the brakes on and off (just watch out for the fluid squirting up and out of it if it's clear lol)

Looks great, well done. Bit of trim around the fairing/screen would finish it off nicely

And that's the whole point..... Sure, people pointing out errors in adverts, constructive comments or pointing out something that's been missed or not been made clear are helpful but.... Putting links to similar cheaper items, comments like "it's too expensive mate", and negative comments about the item should NOT be made. If you're not interested in the item or don't have anything useful/positive to say, then move on I say [img alt=" " src="//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/pirate.png" class="smile"] IMHO lol I do agree with you on principle Looey. I think it comes down to individual item, and whether it’s honestly described and a fair price. Your comment seems to be biased for the seller though. If there are genuine issues/overpriced items the newbies for example (or even the unaware) could possibly pay over the top unless people point it out? I will certainly police myself in this respect and try not to comment on trivial things, only those I consider major in future. Jon Yeah that's a fair point if something is clearly miss-described or wrong. Price wise I'm not so sure, especially as so many will have differing opinions as the the value of something and what seller wants everyone's personal opinion on the item's valiue, especially from people not in the slightest bit interested in buying it ?. In my opinion, it's the seller's prerogative to ask whatever they want for an item, and if someone were to buy something over-priced without doing an ounce of research, then more fool them lol

I think the VAT is being misunderstood slightly ?.
The VAT is only applied to the Buyers Fee, not on the sold item (unless it's a commercial item and the VAT has been reclaimed previously)
Even if you buy a Commercial "VAT" applicable item, VAT is only payable by the buyer if it's previously been reclaimed by the current owner if VAT registered
So if a private or non-VAT registered person buys and item and pays the VAT, when they sell it, the VAT has already been paid and not re-claimed, there will be no VAT to pay. I.e it's only paid once on an item, if not reclaimed, then it's not applied again.
Dunno if that makes sense ? lol

Raising the rear, hence reducing the front rake does 2 things. Makes the bike steer/turn quicker but also makes the bike more unstable at speed (more likely to weave) and more unstable under braking, as the weight on the rear is reduced, so the rear will come off the ground under less braking force. There is a happy medium obviously, possible if your bike was too flat to start with, you may have made it better, or maybe gone to far and made it handle worse. You'll only know by riding the bike towards it's limits to see how it behaves and alter the rear height/rake to get it right. It's going to look better for sure

Sounds like it's running like every 125LC I've ever ridden with a pipe on. Problem is......, the power delivery is so peaky, there's bugger all under 6-6.5k, so when the speed and resulting extra wind-resistance get's up, they won't even hold their speed out of the power band in 5th or 6th, let alone accelerate lol. It's either that or get a YPVS model, or a 250/350LC

Yeah cool About 15 yrs ago, I went into my local Motor Factors with my blown Mk1 bulb and the guy at the counter immediately said "That's the same as a Citroen 2CV" The rest is history

Not sure about the Mk2 (never had one) but the Mk1 Headlight bulb is the same as a Citroen 2CV Headlight Bulb
Yamaha certainly never made their own bulbs lol

Any idea what it's worth or what a fair price would be ?.
It needs work, has some road rash to the fat part of the body and also some heavy pitting in places. Has been painted as is for many years with no rust coming through the paint.

Found a picture of it on the bike before I removed it, it's in exactly the same condition now as in that picture. The front section and downpipe have been repaired by a butcher and painted black, you can see it is black just before it dissapears into the belly pan

I've got a tatty small can Micron for a 125LC that I'm going to sell in the near future and I have lost the barrel flange and springs for that I did have them because I removed it from a complete bike, but deffo lost them now I would've thought Gibson's could make one, worth asking Tony ?.

I've just had a bike collected from South London and delivered to Durham by a company that's based in Scotland (was arranged by the buyer). Seemed nice enough and he certainly had all the right gear. Was delivered the day after it was collected without any problems. Guy's name was Alan (07880 406 082), company was www.motorcycledelivery.co.uk

Has anyone reported any of his items for fraudulent activity ?. Can't be just luck that all his bikes are sh*tters and they all get bid up to roughly twice what they are worth each time they are listed and don't sell either

Think that has been discussed on here recently on another thread. Average at the very best. The seller is either absolutely clueless or trying to rip someone off who knows no better.

I used Mike at motormovers.co.uk to transport a Lambretta from Turin to N Notts last Dec. He's on FaceBook. He's the guy with the KR1-R in one of last years editions of Practical Sportsbikes. Great service & good price. Yeah thanks, he's Mr Koptite that I mentioned in my first posting. So what sort of prices are people paying ?, this would be from London to the north east (Durham)

That was for sale for a while last year, as I recognise the last picture from previous adverts (poss the previous owner's picture) ?. Does look nice though (but don't they all until you get them home and reality sets in what you've really bought)
