So my 350 Powervalve with Rgv front and rear ends and Rgv shock and ypvs dogbones has always looked a bit flat/level, and too easy to scrape the pipes. Wanted to raise the rear end so, Kev tried some 1250 Suzuki bandit short dogbones and it’s raised the rear end 50mm. Happy days

If side stand is now too short, what’s a longer alternative that is a straight fit ?

Care ! Raising the ass end Messes the handling... Unless care in total bike suspension setup to mitigate the Pogo stick effect is taken

Bike was very flat, I would say horizontal as you looked at the bike. I understand that raising the back end makes the geometry different and the bike to turn in quicker, but the bike did need it

50 mm sounds a lot.
my old lc 125 was jacked up to much until the rear end start bouncing on me.

One other thing to be aware of with jacking it up too much is that the chain will kink against the swing arm pivot quickly wearing through the guide

Hi Mick, I spoke to NK a few years back regards his shorter dog bones for a Pv hybrid I was building. He recommended no more than an inch rise in height before it upset the handling. Also, length adjustable shocks like Nitron and YSS don't get anywhere near raising the back end by that much. Still, you'll know once you ride it, and you may find it's ok. Let us know what you think when you do Dusty

Raising the rear, hence reducing the front rake does 2 things. Makes the bike steer/turn quicker but also makes the bike more unstable at speed (more likely to weave) and more unstable under braking, as the weight on the rear is reduced, so the rear will come off the ground under less braking force. There is a happy medium obviously, possible if your bike was too flat to start with, you may have made it better, or maybe gone to far and made it handle worse. You'll only know by riding the bike towards it's limits to see how it behaves and alter the rear height/rake to get it right. It's going to look better for sure

Me and phil Mellor wound the shock out at Anglesey last year trying to get the rear end lifted a little ( obviously not enough as I still scraped the brand new 2t cat stainless exhausts) so if it is too much I can always wind the shock in a bit. As Looey says the only way to find out is to ride it Good job I’m not a fast rider really :-o

Kees the lad i know had the same problem with braking the levers off the tarozzi rear sets and decking the TSA's. We tried adjusting the height front and back to no avail. It was solved very simply in the end. He was taught to sit further off the bike.

Mick, you may need to mod the pipes with blow torch and hammer, had to be done on proddy LCs and also move the exhausts inwards with spacer if you can.

This is the bike. As you can see from the pic at donnington, where I also scraped the pipes, the bike is too flat

The back end does look a bit low. In fact the whole bike looks low. Lovely looking bike especially the seat.
