You could say that you sold it years ago and have just bought it back without any papers.

Bummer, I thought I had them, but just checked and they are 4L1 0006805. Close but no cigar. Gives you the hope that you may find them though. Good Luck, Aid.

I bought a 250lc recently which had no paperwork at all. So I applied for the logbook from the DVLA and hoped for the best. To my surprise I received the logbook about 4 weeks later in my name. Now, bearing this bike is a total basket case, and after applying for the complete history of it I found out that it had not been taxed since 2000. So I don't think that you will have any trouble as long as you are honest. The fact that you have moved a few times, this will be in your favor. The first thing I would do, is contact the DVLA via email and ask their advice. That's what I did and got the result I wanted. There is plenty of info. on the DVLA website so have a look on there first. Good luck. Best regards, Aid.

Hi Yea, it's a good article, but then I enjoy any that are written about Lc's/pv's etc, and PS magazine do tend to cover our bikes and strokers in general quite often. Performance Bikes was the best mag back in the 80's - I used to buy it every month and had hundreds of them, but the 90's saw it's attention change to modern superbikes and they seemed to lose interest in 70's and 80's two strokes. I think I stopped getting it around 93 or 94. PS was a breath of fresh air when it came out and it never fails to disappoint. As Marsbar said, the test wasn't really fair in some respects but it did highlight the differences that 3 years r&d can make. Dusty I can't wait to go and get a copy. Hopefully it will make my mind up for me! Aid.

Hi Just got home as the rain has started, and postie has dropped the latest Practical Sportsbike mag through the door (Feb 17). Looks like a good article on Lc vs Ypvs - which 2t twin is the true classic ? Certainly worth buying this month Dusty Hi Dusty, So is the LC vs YPVS test a real good read? Aid.

Half again as much power .. stock. A more durable engine as well. Much easier /cheaper to find Major parts for . LC power band.. thrilling as it might initially seem, wears quickly. Is the PV engine really that easy to get hold of? Regards, Aid.

Still be as stingy as you can without letting it go. Your signature made me laugh and think maybe a 250 would be best for you. Ha Ha.

I've been offered a 1981 250LC which is in boxes and needs full rebuild, repainted, the full monty. Is £1000 about right for it or am I being too stingy? Hello mate, In my experience, I would buy it for that if it's mostly all there. Especially if it's got a v5 with it. Happy New Year!

Hi Aid. I've got a CB900 that's in need of a resto. Bought it in 1980 as a "new" bike that had been run in very carefully by a marshal at the MGP!!! Came with Pirelli Phantoms on. Haven't got round to doing anything with it yet for reasons similar to yours. Nothing wrong with doing a little bit at a time....its not a race main thing is doing something when you can!! And at least with these Hondas you can still get parts at reasonable prices...... Pickfords (or any other similar company) will be able to help get the big old girl in the house!) Hi Steve. Thanks for that post,I haven't a good laugh about the old Dinosaur for ages! I'm going to try and get some pics up soon if I can get sorted on how to do it. My eldest lad is coming round at the weekend and show me,he's the PC king in our family. Maybe you should start a resto on yours and see who finishes first. I am on with the wiring loom and electrics at the mo and then..............

You can always do a Freddie Spencer job on the Honda and then stick it in the Lounge as an ornament. The LC of course hopefully can be ridden. The cb9 will be rideable but not by me, health took a major nose dive 3yrs ago and the DVLA revoked my license. So to keep me sane I kept the 9 and I have been doing a little bit every now and then. I tried to get it in the house but it's too big and heavy!

Welcome in Aid. Great forum this and nothing wrong in the old muscle bikes. I've got a couple of big Zeds in the garage as well. Mind you I think the Lc's do give me the most pleasure these days. Hi, This is the first forum that I have ever used and I am enjoying it. Sad thing for me is that once my big 9 is done I will not be able to ride it But hey ho, once the LC is done they do say Hooligans don't they? Aid.

Always fancied one of those but never did get one or even have a blast on one. Oh well, as they say , the best things to those who wait. Are they a lot different to the LC? Aid.

Hi Aid, welcome to the forum, to be honest most of us probably have 4 strokes in the garage as well. Hi, Thanks for the post. I came away from 2 strokers because all may mates had 4 strokes, so I was always ringing the LC's neck to keep up. Oh and the obligatory engine rebuild every so often. But you can't say I didn't use it as Yamaha intended. Aid.

Lots of diesel owners on here. Had a fair few myself but it's Lc's that fill my garage now ( at the moment anyway!!) Always liked the big Cb's - proper 70's/80's muscle bike. Don't know what they are like for rebuilding regards parts availability, but it's good to know that Lc's and powervalves are relatively easy to rebuild, with most parts available , although deep pockets are needed Enjoy the forum Dusty This cb9 has quite a story on why I bought it,still have it and sold everything else that I had 3 years ago. The 375LC was sold about 10 years ago. Big mistake! Aid.

Well, if you are into Lc's/Ypvs or 2 strokes in general you are in the right place Have a look around the different sections - lots of inspirational builds, a section for 4 strokes, For sale and wanted sections - just about everything you need really. Dusty Ah good because I couldn't help it, the smell of 2stroke made me buy a complete basket case to go along side my cb900f resto. Sorry I bought the cb years ago and it's one that I must complete. Aid. I should never had sold my RD375LC KR Special.
