I did make the LC Clutch Basket internal gasket. There is one on test with Muttsnuts to make sure they are good before going into production. Brilliant mate, well done, another item formerly made of unobtanium, may become available again.

Rob, Did you get any further replicating the gasket that goes between the clutch basket and drive gear?. Looks quite tricky to plot!.
Cheers Bud. Iain.

There is an excellent engine rebuild thread in the restorations/rebuilds section, by Dusty, a well respected forum member on here. Why not have a look and perhaps tackle the job yourself if confident enough?. Itâd also be very satisfying and youâd have peace of mind, knowing exactly what has been done.

Thatâs the dream for me Alex, I lost my storage some time ago (I rented a small unit at a local farm, that the owner then converted to housing), and wasnât given much notice, so everything literally got piled up in my garage at home!. Iâm planning a ruthless sort out in the spring, so that I can resume working on my projects. Frustratingly I have duplicated buying items - tools etc, that I know I have in the garage somewhere, but need to use sooner than I can find them in there!. Anyway well done to both you and Dusty mate, it looks a nice, organised, useful workspace now. Enjoy đ

Had a play around tonight. Got the apprentice to mill a little bending jig this afternoon and had a go at manipulating the hanger brackets. Used a heat gun and got it as hot as I could (the chrome didnât discolour so probably have been better with a blow torch) The chrome has stayed on, not flaked off at all, but there are some tiny cracks in it on the bend radius. Youâd have to be on your hands and knees to notice it though. It wonât see much bad weather so wonât rust as long as itâs kept polished. Iâve only got some mild steel plate so will liberate some stainless tomorrow and make two L brackets (Iâve made a template for each side from aluminium strip) Both sides are level too so the jig was a success. So I think Iâve had a bit of a result, I didnât need to upset the wife after allâŚâŚ. I will finish it off this week and post up the finished article but to be honest I am now happy with them. To me they look the part, a cross between bean can microns and small can allspeeds. Excellent solution Bill, how they should have been designed in the first place imho. Much neater - top job Sir!

Thanks for posting this up Tim!, Warwickâs Motorcycles were my go to shop in the late 80âs / early 90âs. It was basically an end terraced house, with a cellar, the front counter was in what would have been the living room. I remember going to buy gaskets for my pv and there was an RD500 there with the engine in a million pieces, and remember thinking âwhere would you start?!â. Sadly no longer trading but a fantastic memory, thanks again!.

It is Christmas Eve, and this chap is on a roof top about to jump off.
His wife is leaving him for another man, he has lost his job and he owes thousands of pounds to the bank. Just as he finishes his prayers and closes his eyes, ready to jump, Father Christmas taps him on the shoulder. "Are you OK?" asks Father Christmas.
The man explains why he is so miserable and then gets ready to jump.
"Stop !" shouts Father Christmas.
"It is Christmas, I will grant you three wishes to solve your problems on the understanding that you will grant me a small favour in return!" "Would you ?" the man replies.
"That would be wonderful!!.....Thank you, thank you !" Father Christmas promises him that:
1. You shall go home in 1 hour and your wife will be dressed in her sexiest underwear, begging for forgiveness and longing for your return, and she will have no recollection of her new boyfriend.
2. You shall go into work after the holidays, sit at your desk and continue with your work. Your salary will have increased by 50%. Also, nobody will have any recollection of your sacking.
3. You shall go to your bank and you will be ten thousand pounds in credit, you will have no outstanding bills.
"Oh thank you, thank you!" says the man. "What is it that I can do for you?"
Father Christmas asks the man to drop his pants and bend over. After a quite brutal Rogering, which made his eyes water a little, Father Christmas asks the man how old he is.
"42" replies the man.
"Ho Ho Ho, You're a bit old to believe in Father Christmas aren't you!"?
Chuckled the jolly fat gay b*****d.

Thanks Alex, Iâd imagined car filler wouldnât stand the heat cycles involved, and presumed aluminium filler or good old fashioned brazing/fill rods would be the answer!. Good to know as filler is easy to apply and shape.
Cheers mate. Iain.

Real easy to repair stock exhausts yourself. Save a lot of money that way too. Alex Easy to fill dents⌠not so easy to pull/blow them out back to original⌠But agree ⌠horses for courses.. you donât have to go the whole hog, especially if the dents are after the baffles plates section as the effect on performance is negligible/none⌠What is the preferred method of filling dents Pete?, Iâve often wondered what would give best results. TIA.

Out of interest Rob, are 4L0 and 4L1 carb bodies the same dimensionally?, meaning either could be used given the correct jetting/settings?.

A quick search reveals Peregrine was wound up as a company in 2019, having completed only a couple of machines. Really sad as âNicheâ companies seem to now do well, even in tough financial times

Just watched a video on this very subject, and best results seemed to be bleach, washing up liquid and boiling water?, the chap also used, bicarbonate of soda, white vinegar and dishwasher tablets with little or no effect. I should add his exp tank was quite heavily rust stained internally.
