Yeah, GPS kills our teenage stories I could easily top 125mph on my 350R... "on the clocks". I bet it was 110ish really. So FS1E’s wouldn’t actually do 65mph then Jon? 😳……🤣🤣🤣

I was parked up on my LC, and remember being berated by an irate woman, who took offence at the performing berks sticker on the bottom of my number plate that read ‘I speed up for horses’, I didn’t/don’t obviously, but she wasn’t receptive to my explanation of irony ☹️. Cuserable Mint. Ha, I remember the fuss that one caused. They published a complaint letter by someone from the horse brigade and replied that as way of apology they would pay for one of the horse magazines to produce a sticker something along the lines of 'I drop sh!t on the racing line'. Colin Haha, I’d never heard that Colin 😁, however I can imagine that’d be the kind of irreverent response from Hargreaves and Co. Brilliant, sadly it wouldn’t happen today, I imagine even motorcycle journalism hasn’t escaped this overly woke culture that’s sweeping the planet.

Look at where the seals are, ie their depth. measure where the piston would be on full stroke with well used pads. if the smaller ones will span that gap with some overlap then you'll be ok i would think. The extra length is only 2mm... but hey 'it is brakes'... so dont listen to the internet. I would also say that if the caliper's depth can take the longer piston, just use the same as what came out if it worked fine before. 2mm extra length if it doesnt protrude would be fine etc... Both these are the same width, so... I’m guessing the O/P wouldn’t know if it worked fine, as his piston was seized in?

Thanks for posting Jon, Apparently the night time version was in homage to the ending “Boing, said zebedee, time for bed’ 😂👍🏻

I’ve just had an epiphany! Ronnie Smith’s (Performance Bikes) magic roundabout design, day and night versions.
I appreciate FM weren’t a premium brand like the big boys, Shoei, Arai, AGV etc, but you can’t argue it was a cool design!.
If only I could post photos, but I’m a total Luddite (Veg will vouch for me!) 😬.

Hi, I can highly recommend Shaunthe2nd, a long time well respected member on this forum.
He refurbished 2 sets of clocks for me and I’m extremely happy with the results. Good bloke to deal with too.
Good luck with the bike. bezzer

I'm seeing this sort of thing in business in the UK, it's as if a lot of the big companies have a department for coming up with a constant barrage of new requirements to make it not viable to work with them. It's all very odd. I was in the Barbers on Tuesday having me wig trimmed, and I noted he hadn’t put his prices up since 2020, he said “ I won’t do it mate, people have got enough on their plates without me adding to it”. I appreciate he’s only a small business, but I thought that was really refreshing to hear, given that most service providers have increased costs to the end user, sighting increased energy costs etc, and we just have to accept it.

Thanks Lads, for your input, I concur with Veg’s initial idea of maybe getting one modified to ‘fit’, being a possibility.
The quote I had for a one off tank in alloy was £850, so Steve, your estimate is virtually spot on when you add the VAT. So as the ’test’ tally donations stand at 3 quid, it’s inching closer 😂.

Iain I’ll give you a quid just for the giggles. I do remember there was an alloy tanked Lc with gold pinstripes and decals in the late 90’s early 00’s for some reason I thought Nigel owned it? It was a club member from that time as well as I believe on Alec’s forum? Thanks for the info mate - I’d be interested to know if any photos exist of that bike? 😃. And sincere thanks for your kind offer of contribution , I just need another 239 like minded souls, and I’ll place the order!! 😂. Seriously though I do think an alloy tanked LC would look cool, I found details of a chap in the U.K. that can replicate any tank in alloy, obviously such a bespoke service comes at a cost - and time constraints, his order book was 18 months wait last time I checked. Cheers buddy.

True JonW, but my rationale, and bear with me on this, is that aluminium would presumably not be as affected by ethanol in modern fuels?, I also genuinely like the look of polished alloy tanks (I think mead speed made one for the LC’s in the 80’s ).
And you’re right, I did envisage a lot of negativity towards this subject, given the historic atrocious quality of the tanks produced in India, but I wondered whether anyone had first hand experience, not that they’d admit to actually purchasing one, but may have bought a bike with one already fitted?.
I may set up an anonymous helpline for anyone affected by Indian made tanks, offering help and support through the process 🙏🏻😊.

Have any of you lovely forum members tried one of the Indian made aluminium fuel tanks yet?. Obviously I’m aware of the quality/fit/form issues of the steel ones, but wondered if anyone has actual experience of one?.
I must admit it’s off putting when in the description they say they’ve been pressure tested and are supplied with a liner! 😂. Presumably they fail the pressure test because of pin holes in the seams and the sealer is added to make them less sieve-like 😁.
Cheers chums. bezzer.

Good question mate…. I’m sorry I’ve no idea?!, I used PJ1 satin paint, on my LC and DT175MX using the JB method. I’m sure someone with a chemistry based background will be along to elaborate on this soon 👍🏻

Hi Folks, I am tapping into the font of your knowledge as I’ve never done this, but know some of you have…
I want to fit 31K/LC2 forks to a 4L0 350, as a bit of an upgrade over the standard forks, and retain my LC clocks, the idea being it’ll look standardi(ish) RWU etc, so, the question is, Is it possible to fit the LC clock bracket to the 31K yoke?, or modify one to do so?. I have no idea how the standard 31K clocks fit to the yoke hence my question.
Thanks to you all, as ever!.

I’ve had good results filing the worst of the ‘high’ spots down then JB weld (the aluminium putty), I also know there’s a car body filler that is a predominantly aluminium based paste, if heat was a factor?.

Hi Rigga, Sorry buddy I’ve just seen this thread, and was shocked by your initial post. I’m really chuffed to hear of the progress you’ve made, and continue to make in such a short space of time. I’m not much good with words, but can only echo the previous comments from responders, and wish you continued improvement, spring will be here before you know it!!.

I was wondering the same about those apple AirTag devices?, they also use Bluetooth , the blurb says :
“Just like your other Apple devices, AirTag can be put into Lost Mode. Then when it’s detected by a device in the network, you’ll automatically get a notification. You can also set it so someone can get your contact info by tapping your AirTag with an NFC-capable smartphone — that’s the same technology that lets people pay for things with their phone, Only you can see where your AirTag is. Your location data and history are never stored on the AirTag itself. Devices that relay the location of your AirTag also stay anonymous, and that location data is encrypted every step of the way. So not even Apple knows the location of your AirTag or the identity of the device that helps find it”.
So presumably in ‘lost mode’ the device would effectively use the nearest apple iPhone/iPod as a relay station to inform you where it is, all anonymously it would seem?.

This has me intrigued now Tim, I initially thought if you were near water an Otter or Beavers as they are being reintroduced, until the pictures and the scale of 4-5 feet. Do your best David Bellamy work and capture the critter (on film at least). Happy hunting buddy.

The speedo doesn’t appear to be working on the video, could be disconnected?, could be a cable?, could be expensive!. It says at the end that there is a problem with the speedo so as you say another large expense Steve My bad Steve, I really should read the description, …………………………………………………….:………………………………………………………..‘til the end.. 😂
