I’m really chuffed for you Bill, and glad you decided on choosing another furry Pal 😃. They bring life to your surroundings, it’s just a house without them, but a home with.
He’ll have a great life with you & family, and I hope he brings you great joy for many years to come.
Good on ya mate! 😊.
Iain.

I’ve got a date with a woman who identifies as a wheelie bin.
But I can’t remember if I’m taking her out on Tuesday or Wednesday.

That’s incredible, I didn’t even know that was a ’thing’!.
Great racing to watch and not one of them high/low/back/front sided 😀.
I agree with you Tony, looks great fun and if I was 30 years younger I’d be jumping at the chance of a go, but I have to say my back was aching just watching them, their core strength must be another level.

As Dusty points out wear gloves. I used to remove engines for investigation from super cars that had suffered ‘Thermal incidents’ as the engineers used to call them, and some of the melted plastic insulation on wiring and sealing components leaves behind some very toxic/harmful residues ☹️

Be great if someone could replicate them Jon. Out of interest, did you ever source a replacement for the lock covers?, by that I mean the stainless disc with the key slot in?.

So sorry to hear of your loss Bill. Dylan was obviously very loved mate, and you’d given him a great life.
It’s a heartbreaking decision you had to make, but you made it for him, not you, and that’s the most selfless thing you could have done.
He”ll always be a part of your life, and you can be thankful for that.
All the best bud. Iain.

Hey Dusty, I know what you mean - it gets disheartening doesn’t it?, but as my old Gran used to say ‘What’s for you, won’t pass you by’, the right place will come along I’m sure, and when you’re stood by your bike lift, in your new workshop, all the stress will be a distant memory !! 😁.
And yes, I thought I’d try and upgrade the front end on the 4L0 frame, it’s not desperate as I obviously have the standard forks etc, but thought it might be a sensible mod, now that I’m, ahem, a ‘tad’ over the 10 stone 6 pounds I was when I had my first LC 😬😆. Thanks for the info r.e. lower yoke too mate, it seems there are plenty of later valve yokes, so shouldn’t be too difficult to track one down.
Cheers buddy Iain.

Loving the look of this build already mate, LC2 forks have come up beautifully. I’m aiming to fit the same to my ‘bitsa’ LC, were there any complications fitting them? or a direct fit?, got the legs and top yoke, but was let down on a bottom yoke so still need to source that.
Oh and congratulations on the house sale buddy, keep focused on that workshop for your next move!! 😁

YPVS think some people thought that was a 350LC engine, best I've done one of them is 68bhp at the moment, need to try and get back on getting one over 70bhp - the thing is I am trying to keep them reliable, the YPVS is only using 66% of ring to bore, which is low compared to the normal 68% to 70% Incredible to think of 68BHP from an engine with an original design intent of 46 !. Id be ecstatic with 60 BHP and reliable as you state Dave. Superb gains made on the YPVS engine too, looks to be revving really cleanly, right through the range. Top work Squire 😀.

Personally I’d struggle letting go of something so stunning and unique mate, although I fully understand your reasoning behind the decision.
Whoever is lucky enough to end up owning it should first be aware of your build thread, and the engineering obstacles you overcame to achieve the result.
Whichever way you go, auction or fixed price, I wish you the best of luck, and hope it goes to a deserving owner.

FWIW Jon, I bought the seat from Steve Hislop’s road LC, and you’re right, without any form of provenance it’s just a used seat. I like the thought that the man himself sat on it though! 😁.

Paul, The main thing for me would be the frame number matching the V5C, rather than the other way round.
I had the same issue many years ago with a 4L1 frame, with a 350 4L0 engine fitted, but the logbook stated the engine was the original matching 4L1 250.
From memory I sent the logbook off with the amended 350 numbers and changed the capacity to 347 and it came back updated. I’m not sure whether the DVLA would make things so easy now, but happy to be proved wrong.
I also agree that back in the day when we weren’t so aware that checking numbers against v5’s wasn’t high on our priority list, rightly or wrongly.
Hope you get it sorted buddy. Iain.

There’s a YouTube video of a guy who bores out the drum lining, and threads it internally, then makes a drum with the same thread externally, and screws it into the hub. Presumably it must be a left handed thread to ‘tighten’ itself against the rotational force of the wheel when the brake is applied.
