Some of you probably saw this already, but from the 8th of April, Ebay will be adding a 0.35% fee (0.42% Including VAT) to all final values:

Its like they are wondering how expensive they can make it before people leave.
In Aus we get charged their fees and our vat on the item, post and even the local sales tax of the buyer in another country... how is foreign tax taxable where i live?!
Plus we pay a small (currently 27c) fee for any foreign sale... for no reason. This will increase Im sure.

I'm seeing this sort of thing in business in the UK, it's as if a lot of the big companies have a department for coming up with a constant barrage of new requirements to make it not viable to work with them. It's all very odd.

It's all very odd. I was in the Barbers on Tuesday having me wig trimmed, and I noted he hadn’t put his prices up since 2020, he said “ I won’t do it mate, people have got enough on their plates without me adding to it”. I appreciate he’s only a small business, but I thought that was really refreshing to hear, given that most service providers have increased costs to the end user, sighting increased energy costs etc, and we just have to accept it.

I use Gumtree as my primary way to sell stuff. It’s free.
For sure it’s not got the global reach that something like eBay has but I’ve always been successful with the random stuff I’ve sold.

buying on Gummy always seems like a bit of a punt as to getting ripped off... half way between Fb marketplace and ebay.
selling on Gummy... so many spam calls and calls from blokes who have nothing better to do that chat about what bikes they used to have, not actually buying anything.

Commendable practice that.

I'm pretty sure Ebay could've swallowed that 'small' increase themselves. They already take 12%...

Rather than increase his prices I bet he just cuts 5% less off! Another example of shrinkflation lol.
