I love wiring! I'm not going to be using indicators or a battery, so hoping to thin this out a little bit. Any advice from a wiring wizard will be gratefully received ;-)

LC frame, 31k forks and brakes, LC wheel and discs.
I'm guessing I need washers to space out the calipers, between the fork mounts and the caliper, so that the discs are clear of the inside part of the caliper?
Is this correct?

If you had fork mounted risers you could still use the F2 yoke, not the best pic, but you get the idea.

I removed the boss and the plastic cover on the front wheel. the spindle diameter seems to be 18mm.

At a guess Sr400/500 however the rear sprocket throws me. I also think under the black plastic cover you may have bolt holes for a twin disc set up? Think I've sussed the rear, it's a later XT500. I'll try and get the cover off and see if the front looks any more familiar.

That's a prototype in the pic, those wheels never made it to production on the LC. As you know, the aircooled RD had a disc rear and I think the front spindle may be a different diameter to the LC so you could fit aircooled wheels but it will take a bit of fettling. Think the rim sizes were same as the LC ones. I discovered the problem with the front spindle, as I had an old A/C wheel knocking about. It should be do-able if I can get the correct bearing sizes though??

I would go for the Daytona / 400E-F wheels as they are lighter and wider . Do you know the sizes?

Weren't the rear wheels disc brake? I know Sr and Xs had drums though, could be and probably am wrong. Yes they are, but it's not a problem for what i'm doing ;-)

Anyone put Air cooled alloys in an LC? I'm thinking of doing it for a project, is it just a case of getting alternative sized bearings to fit the LC spindles? Cheers Wang

I want to put an aircooled alloy front wheel into an LC project i've got.
The front spindle on the aircooled seems to be a bit wider in diameter, as the LC one waggles in the wind, the LC speedo drive fits fine.
Can I just use LC front bearings to solve this?
Cheers Wang

Nice one. How hard/easy was the seat to do? It wasn't too bad, the seat base and foam were in really good condition, thankfully, so no rust to worry about, so just took my time making sure the cover was on straight.
