Thought id throw on the Microns I bought off Matt (yogiburr) the night, fitted the right hand side pipe with a new copper exhaust gasket, had too faff around with the footrest hangers to get it too line up but when I tighten everything up its fouling the swingarm, do they sit close normally? would a thinner gasket help? its defo the right pipe im putting on that side and I see from previous posts that there is a gap from barrel too the micron exhaust flange , ive whipped it off for now , ive never used microns before, in the past ive had allspeeds and NK Racing pipes and had no issues, any advice appreciated, cheers Donald

Whipped the swingarm out too sort the lack off paint caused by the battery getting fried by the rectifier at some point in the bikes past, ( I assume thats wot happened ) So a quick rub doon and some simnoniz engine enamel and some new grease nipples and check all else was well,( which it was) and refit in afternoon, might get it powder coated in the winter but that will do the noo
Then washed the R1 and took her for a blast, Mr Yamaha makes some pretty bikes I reckon

Well picked up the bike I bought off Fatbloke (Ian) offa here in Inverness last week, rode her too the Ullapool ferry (60 miles) with a big smile on ma face, well chuffed with her, pulls real cleanly, rides well and starts easy, what more can you ask, she is very clean with only the swingarm really needing sorted,( scab on it needs paint) oh and the temp gauge aint working, ill sort that after ive put some miles on her, done nearly 400 miles on her already , she is well fit

I do about 6k miles a year on my R1, I am lucky enough too live on the Western Isles of Scotland, got the highlands just a 3 hour ferry ride away and me and my buddies pick weekends that look decent and go , the best empty roads in the Uk live up here (shish don't tell anybody lol) I regularly run down too see my sis in Moffat , A87 A82 etc my kids all grown up and away from home (im fifty this year) still a bit off a hooligan and cannae wait to go too Inverness this week too pick up elsie I just bought offa Fatbloke (Ian) off this very site, already been measuring up my wee fellas RS125 too see how the swinger and front end will swap haha , guess having most off my buddies alive and riding still helps , life tae short, live it!!! that's my mantra and im sticking too it.
