I have now clocked up 400 miles on the Lc after it's rebuild. Kept it under 4k for 100 miles, then under five for another 200, and under 5500 until the 400 mark. A bit extreme I know, but it rides so well, you don't need to thrash it all the time. I have an R1 for that..... All is good. The plugs, as before are a lovely dark tan colour and there is absolutely no flat spot. Exactly as it was before the motor sh!t itself..... Haven't held it to the stop for more than a few seconds, but I'm very happy with how it feels. It sat at 75mph on the motorway too, which makes it a useable bit of kit. Let's see if it lasts more than 800 miles this time.........

I'd be happy with 800miles between rebuilds if it ran that well, good luck , hope it lasts for a few summers at least

Nice One Mate . Bet You Have Two Fingers Over The Clutch Lever ... I've rode with two fingers over the clutch all my life, after my formative years on two strokes. I even do it on my R1 as a force of habit!!!!

Good news , hope al that steady riding will be worth it. I am just starting running my full engine build in , only at 40 miles yet, hope to start putting a few more on if it gets an MOT at w/end. I have been running up to 4000 , I'll then do something on the lines you have . Do feel a bit of a fool dropping down a few cogs to climb a hill at around 30mph on a LC. But dont want to labour the engine to hard in a high gear. Also ride with a few fingers over the clutch , I ve had a chain off and an engine sieze back in the day, you never know.
Must say though my bike runs better every mile I go on it .
Make the most of this good weather
LOL just see what Stevep put in his post. got me thinking about a girl we all knew in our local young farmers club , she had the knick name of 'kit-kat' four fingers were never enough.

WE had some fun in young farmers , we played lots of bull and cow chasing games and checking out for the largest udders! That was between downing a few beers at the local.
