It will be interesting to see what this costs compared to previous times youve done it Dusty.
(ok, it will be scary.. but it'd still be interesting to know what % extra the past few years have added to a full build)

Brilliant, even as one who has built his fair share of these, its always nice to see Dusty do a thread on one Also that transmission goes to prove the adage that you cant judge a book by its cover!

another brilliant project!
I know your pain trying to hold something from getting damaged... wont slow you down on the build tho I bet!

wow! unsure how you get those off... plus it would have been much simpler to move the frame rails over and redo the mount.

Watching the most recent 'Reality TV' series of Hunted this evening and lo n behold there was a classic of a moment when I was giving a thumbs up to the TV! LOL. Around 26mins into episode 5 (series 7) one of the teams was in a guys office and in the corner was a lovely looking yellow LC. Someone will recoginise the bike im sure. Looks a bit like my yellow LC lol

Ive yet to see a photo in this thread... do you Mower Fanciers just talk about these demon machines and not show them off in case someone finds out?
Most Aussies would tell you 10 years back that all garden tools should be petrol. But in 2024 many now have electric stuff. I have 4 chainsaws, 3x 2T and 1 battery... which one do i use the most? er.... Same with my hedge trimmer (1 of each, 2T and batt)... Luckily for me I got rid of my lawn and no need for a whipper snipper, thats a strimmer for you Poms lol
I do have a 4T pressure washer... I bought it cos it had a Honda engine... I know, I know... but you surely cant pass up a deal on a Honda small 4 stroke for jobs like that... until i later read it was the worst engine Honda had ever made. Ahh... It also doesnt like to be tipped... the oil comes out like your mowers do. What a debacle. It does have some power tho for a domestic unit at least.
FWIW One of my neighbours here has a 2 stroke mower... its really really loud lol

its landed at Dave Wrights ( dilly dilly ) - seen the first video of it last night on Youtube - be interesting to see it get built I saw it first hand round at Daves yesterday. It does look like it's pretty much all there. There is a lot of work in it to make it running and riding, but no more than you'd expect in all honesty. I reckon it will live again for maybe £5k to 6k in total, fine for a keeper but not likely any money in it as a quick flip. Did the buyer (I assume someone sent it to Dave) consider it a keeper?

They look German to me... and Id think late 80's/early 90's
I would think there isnt much of a market for well used pattern mirrors but you never know I guess. They could be super rare etc.

Well today my DigitalSpeedos order landed and its exactly what I ordered. Phew!
It felt very much like touch n go there for a bit with no comms until I used the Whatsapp number supplied by Mark (Zig).
Thanks very much to him for sorting that and sharing on here.
While I agree they are trying to sort stuff out I think they could have been more proactive with the existing orders as customers who couldnt find that whatsapp number would have started to get their money back from their bank/ccard/paypal etc I certainly did as the silence had gone on too long especially once you started to read to reviews you were given a terrible feeling your money would be gone and the biz closed etc. In my view they could have started comms earlier and saved any bad taste for customers.
But hey it is what it is... would i order from them again? ... hmm, yes I spose i would if they were cheapest, but I'd defo check the up to date trustpilot reviews to see how they are going first.
(Off topic: For those following my fun n games with post... My local parcel turns out had the label washed totally blank. I have a photo but dont want to muddy the waters by showing it here as its not from Digital Speedos. My FedEx order eventually came and was fine. Im still awaiting the German parcel, the seller gave me a useless or wrong tracking number and is ignoring me when I ask for one that will work... great.)

Ahha! perfect.
Yes I remember the Rizomas.
I reckon LED inds might be ok, its not like its something structural, but does depend on the person doing the testing in Vic.

Nope But you find another right 🤣 Steve The most exciting thing (from a dull man point of view) is that one of the lefts is one of the hard to find pre-cutout types. I might ebay it and retire..... If you do, that'll give you more time to search for the other left...

The ally one is a copy of the Pingel I guess? I wonder how different a real Pingel would be.
Urbantagleweed is the Project Farm of the forum! "We're gonna test that!" (for those who know the youtube channel)

Dusty I think Alex's speedo drive has a slot in it? DL'd the pic and adjusted the colours... yep there is a slot... I would say the fork leg and the speedo drive are not from the same bike

Ahh ok, so this allows you to get more tension on the spring. Could you also have shimmed behind the spring or used a longer/stronger one instead?
I guess this part of the kicker isnt hardened, Ive been told the other part is but had no issues drilling when I needed to so not sure on that one.

Always satisfying to have the speedo drive cleaned up, the grease in these is usually horrible and old.
Not sure how the seal fixes the issue with the drive locator, so interested to see when it arrives.

We only just talked about this recently, so worth a search, but yeah heat and the specialist tools (cheap enough these days on ebay/amazon etc) really help with this one.

I've always sprayed through all the ports with carb cleaner or if you have panted them white spirit Then take a kit of white kitchen roll, spray wd40 on it and wipe the bore If there is any discolouration on the towel get a new piece, wd40 again and keep wiping till it is clean The cross hatching holds onto grime Steve I use a parts washer and one of those washing up brushes thats like a mini bog brush... but, i appreciate people will say that we dont all have a pasts washer... or perhaps even an ice cream tub and a litre of kerosine... lol
