Did the declarations require some sort of inspection of road worthiness by a 3rd party agency?

I wonder what are the legal requirements in declaring modifications to insurance companies etc...what inspections do you need?

Yes they are worn at the coupling....so...build up with Tig welder and reprofile.... surprised no one has come up with a solution for this...maybe a splined coupler...or a single bolt all the way through both valves.. Did the same. I have a lc crazy coupler, what is and 'oldham' coupler?

My first ypvs was brand new and had an oring chain...I believe they were endless chains...and super smooth until it wore out at 12k or so...once I ran out of adjustment on it it came off a few times....guess I was lucky never bound up..

Anthrax is in anthrax...I doubt it's in paint stripper!

I am wondering what people use for stripping paint from engine parts, if not going down the blasting route? I keep seeing references to aircraft paint stripper but can't find it in the UK....any pointers would be appreciated.

Just exploring this really....I have ordered new valves for my build but seems to me if you machine down the worn surface s and sleeve with phosphor bronze or some such...it would avoid scrapping the old ones

I know it's not an lc but on my Daytona build I just ran over the whole block with a light steel brush in a drill...not pressing hard...looked great..not brilliant but good enough ..using brass brushes in a Dremel will take forever...and you'll get millions of strands of brass everywhere

Does anybody, or has anybody sleeved a worn set of power valve bearing surfaces to recondition them, is this an approach that might work? If so what material to use?

Thanks for that answer,...any recommendations for a replacement basket, plates and springs...is the basket replacement relatively easy to do...my only experience with the clutch is replacing a complete assembly including the gear...

Hi all, on my first hybrid build at the moment....and have opted to run the engine as is without a bottom end rebuild....but the clutch is rattling away...and on inspection has some nice(not) rotational play. Many years ago I had the whole basket go wobbly and shattered all my plates on another bike....but have forgotten what the issue were....could anyone tell me should I replace the basket assembly?....(I'm going to do the plates anyway)..or is it the shock mounts just need replacing?

thanks to this thread I now have my rgv rear end complete and running...gsxr 400 rear wheel, bandit 400 carrier, running a 150 tyre as I ended up with about 1mm clearance between the chain and tyre....running the standard vj22 oem shock which actually feels pretty good compared to ypvs oem

On stripping down my ypvs 350 there was fuel in the right exhaust pipe....I am assuming this is a bad float needle or similar and I had left the tap on prime.....so anyway yesterday I drained the gearbox oil...which was also badly contaminated with fuel...the only path I can think.of for the fuel to take was through the right hand crank seal....does this mean the crank seal has failed....and should I pull the crank and get it rebuilt if the seal has gone then maybe so have the bearings...anyone's thoughts would be gratefully received!

Awesome mate that's brilliant feedback ! Not actually sure which loom is on the chassis as the original bike is a complete bitsa... complete with 4lo clocks originally...you don't happen to know of the location of any downloadable manuals do you?
