that's quite nice.. then i had a closer look and thought if it was mine.. i'd refit the front mudguard closer to the tyre, tip the tailpiece up at the back to line up the decals and loose one of the two pipes.. anyway, it's not mine but still quite nice

ride it until it bursts then get it rebuilt.. if it's not broken now, why spend the money up front?

A seagull flew into the GF's window last year and left a perfect image on the glass from the impact with the grease on its feathers rather like a fingerprint on glass.. the gull was undamaged as far as we know but it was a hefty bang when it hit, she wasn't in the same room otherwise she'd have thought the pane was going to explode..

I saw something today but still unsure what. A HUGE bird swooped down onto a chimney. It had a neck almost the same length of it's body and sat there for a while before flying off. Looked a bit like a Heron but it was bigger than that. Big crooked beak too. If I was in Florida I'd have said it was a Flamingo...Mystified. Alex Stork, having a rest after delivering another baby... marti

Toolstation is a handy place to get some smallish fasteners, i picked up 50 M8 x 20 SS screws for just over £11 the other day.. Screwfix and anywhere similar is probably also worth a look

my Youtube feed is now full of folks making friends with crows...
my dad had a couple of crow "familiars", he didnt like rats so would burn his old food waste in a brazier rather than throw them out and help to feed the rats at the landfill site.. anyway, turns out that crows like a warm meal and would pick through the ashes to find whatever remained of the remains.. they also tagged along when he took the dog out for a walk..

JonW, it's on my next shopping list.. i was surprised that the PO had put back all the plastic bars inside the filter housing, I'm not sure if i'd seen them in the flesh before..

the bit of old cushion foam which i found inside my airbox has probably been inside as long as the tyres have been fitted (jan 1996, according to the date mark.. ) i'll look into replacing it but to be fair it's better than JonW's..

welcome to the forum, Jimmy.
do all the other electrical bits work, lights horn etc.?
the first thing to do is to get hold of a wiring diagram there should be something if you use the search tab.. and get a multimeter, set it to continuity where it should emit a bleep when the probes touch and test the wires from the fuse box to the kill and ignition switches and so on, also check for corroded terminals in the connector blocks and the switches ( do that last as its fiddly and there's the chance a wee spring or two will head for the hills..)

it's a doddle.. take the caliper off and pump the piston out, dumping the fluid on the floor, swear a bit.. put a brass brush in a dremel and remove the seal from the caliper, buzz round the groove with dremel, a blob of fluid on the new seal and piston and put it back together.. it's a ten minute job, not including the two days of getting motivated to get into the garage with current temperatures.. or is it just me..?

I have two sets of 375 barrels which are cut down for the DT pistons.. My mate has a pair of 375 barrels which don't use DT175 pistons and are not cut down but I'll have to give him a ring to find out.. I'm thinking it may be IT125 but.. some possibly useful stuff here www.mitaka.co.uk/index.htmlmarti Aye, he reckoned the pistons were IT125 but they are not to hand to check out fully.. HTH

you can't get the crank out if you go in upside down so to speak, the pistons wont pass through the crankcase mouths..
