Thanks for the offer Jon, We're in the IOM at the moment, so don't have access to all my usual tools. We're not stuck, I can leave this one as is for now. I'll keep and eye out and let you know if I get totally stuck Much appreciate

What's the chances of finding the part of an LC seat that has the 2 threads poking through for the seat catch to bolt to the underneath of the seat.
Got a seat here to refurb and one of the studs is snapped off for the catch to bolt onto.
Anyone know if they're handed or the same both sides ? (haven't got the seat apart yet).
Cheers

Anyone tried running a 125 on a single PWK28? It's a good call. I've got some PWK28's on my Hyybrid but sold my last 125LC recently

Yeah and it does look a little fatter and not as close to the bodywork around the bottom at the rear ?.
If the covers are pulled too tight, it can curve them up front and rear !!!

I have to rock mine back and forward with it in gear with the clutch pulled to get it released after that it’s fine Ps it was fine before I fitted oversize frictions My YPVS engine does exactly the same, even if just left a few hours. It's had every type of gear oil in it and the clutch rebuilt with all new parts but it's still the same. Like you, I just rock it free before starting and it's fine otherwise lol

If it's any help, I've had 125LC's on and off for over 30yrs and no matter what anybody says, they will perform pretty much the same with any model of 125LC carb as long as the main jet and needle clip position is correct for your setup.
I've run 12A, 10W and 11A carbs on them and they will all give roughly the same performance.

The cover on these can make a big difference to the look. I have 2 genuine seats, one has been recovered and it looks a bit fatter than the one that's totally original but obviously isn't.

Yep it's a big shame and it's everywhere in the UK now and one of the reasons why we live mostly on the Isle of Man now BUT, we will be back over then, so maybe. I'll bring the FS1-E, you can't ride any faster anywhere lol

For Suzuki's, you need to download, fill in and return as request form, and they'll have £95 off you for the pleasure Still cheap I supposed if it's going to save you £12.50 a day

Yes, i commute most days on a 2006 Hornet and yet i have to pay the same, the same as say, a 30 year old diesel car! Really, is my bike as dirty?? It is utterly ridiculous. Clearly TFL have done no research and it is just another tax. We still have diesel buses, taxis, electric trains (since when has producing electricity been green) battery cars, a joke, try and disposing of a battery when it's dead! I am self employed and this is just another cost. They wrote to me three times (waste of paper) explaining my options, they are: 1. Use public transport..........Unreliable, expensive, over crowded 2. Walk/cycle.........................48 miles a day! 3. Buy a newer bike..............Spend several thousand to see it get scratched, stolen Why do they not encourage motorcycles, No congestion, minimal pollution, oh yes, minimal earnings for TFL! Mouse Bikes need to be 1st August 2007 or newer to be free don't they ?. It's a ball ache but can't you sell your 2006 bike and buy one a year newer ? lol

Looks to me like the lines are probably too short to run in the correct route with the forks at full extension (which will only be achieved with the front wheel off the ground) . Smart looking bike though

If you buy Ramair foam filters, only tighten the clamp the minimum you need to, otherwise the end of the carb opening cuts through the rubber neck of the filter and they'll last 5 minutes. Ramair filter seem to suffer more than most with this, the rubber isn't that strong.

I always stick the bearings in the freezer for a couple of hours and warm the centre of the wheel with a hair dryer or carefully with a heat gun, then they tap in very easily using the outer race

I agree totally that Dusty is a top man to buy a bike from that he's built, the attention to detail and getting all things right on the build is clearly evident in his build threads. You're only dilemma would be, like others have said, personalising to your tastes (plenty of builders to do that if you can't). I've bought a couple of Hybrids in the past that were so badly bodged in places, I almost lost the will to live putting them right, one I gave up and moved it on (being totally honest with the buyer what I knew). Just don't buy with rose tinted glasses, just b'cos it's closer to the look you want. Buy wrong and you'll soon regret it. What's the saying ? "buy in haste, repent at leisure" ? lol. Buy wrong and expect to find things like bodged front calipers that have been sprayed to look good but have knackered/binding seals, butchered pistons and 3 different makes of brake pads across the 2 front calipers, engine mount bolts too short and catching on 2 threads, exhaust hanger bolts so long they're almost touching the rear wheel, lots of stuff like that (I could go on). Better off with a brilliantly built bike that needs some mods to your taste, rather than buying a bodged money pit That was nearly a rant wasn't it ? lmao

Yeah, modern radial rubber on larger rims makes a big difference when coupled with better suspension and brakes
