What's the chances of finding the part of an LC seat that has the 2 threads poking through for the seat catch to bolt to the underneath of the seat.
Got a seat here to refurb and one of the studs is snapped off for the catch to bolt onto.
Anyone know if they're handed or the same both sides ? (haven't got the seat apart yet).
Cheers

I made a couple of new ones, a small bit of flat plate filed to shape, and drilled/welded a couple of 6mm bolts to them. Not handed, so both the same.

Thanks for the offer Jon, We're in the IOM at the moment, so don't have access to all my usual tools. We're not stuck, I can leave this one as is for now. I'll keep and eye out and let you know if I get totally stuck Much appreciate

I have a seat base with no foam or cover, so can see what it would have to look like from the brackets that are on it.
Let me know as it looks like an easy bit to fabricate.

I went through the whole page to be sure but all I could find was one picture with the tang as it looked before the repair. I can plastic weld so that's not an issue for me but wondering what you used to build the tang up with?

I didnt take one, but rest assured the two prongs were long gone. I used some plastic I had lying around from a rego holder, but you will find something im sure.

Jon, is it easy to fabricate the tang also? Alex Its plastic but yes you can add to it with a soldering iron and the right plastic to build it up or make a steel one like the Gully's have. This is one I built up before the final sanding: img]http://www.2smoked.com/Yamaha_RDLC_Restoration_-_350_conversion_from_250_files/droppedImage_24.jpg [/img] from about 1/3rd way down this page: www.2smoked.com/Yamaha_RDLC_Restoration_-_350_conversion_from_250.html
