That horn bracket is very trick very nice indeed. Excuse my ignorance when it come to printed parts, are these parts strong enough to support the parts that are bolted onto them?

I would say riding, but i do understand the importance of maintenance. For me riding a bike is an all year round thing.
Maintenance for me at the moment is;
Block 40% of my radiater off and rejet for the cold weather on my RD road bike
Prepare Bakker bike for next year trackdays. Check/clean brakes etc, change gear ratios in gearbox, Possibly fit quick shifter and dry clutch.
Remove dry clutch from 400cc engine inspect all parts improve/fix any teething problems and source/make new parts for a couple more dry clutches including making one for a 4LO using the 4LO engine casing, water pump etc.
Not too much to do and thats why i say riding only

I've seen this TZ a few times in the paddock areas but always missed it on the track. It realy is a nice bike.

The most difficult set of taps for me to get hold of was M5 with a very fine pitch it was used for reclaiming thread on old Keihin carbs, it took about 3 months to order them through my company. I could only source them from companies that deal with trade and not joe public.

... oh come on Tony, as you well know, you only need cutting paste / oil if your using your OWN taps and dies, if its the WORKS taps and dies you dont need any cutting paste at all ! Steven. Ha Ha that is mostly true, normally the customer has it onboard. There have been occasions where i have ordered the stuff and my colleagues have questioned why i have odered it. They have all been a bit on the younger side and still need to experience "being up shit creek without a paddle"

I would just like to add buy yourself a good cutting oil. It really makes all the difference and your taps will last longer especially when cutting titanium or stainlees metals.
I use Zettex cutting oil which comes in a spray can but my favourite is Roco, i've had a big tin of the stuff since i was an apprentice it's a bit like grease so you dab it on it works really well and stinks like hell.

You're correct that it's a good repair method and I'll keep it in mind for sure. The tapping hole for the helicoil is 10.25mm and it's 9.5mm already and there's plenty of room for the helicoil. I'm going to reinstall the top end Sunday and then wire in the Ignitech CDI and will hopefully finish the bike before December 4 when we go to Malaysia for 4 months out of the cold. I'll do all of the commissioning when I get back next year. I miss the warmth

Naked? Stark bollock? Pant less? Or more cryptic? If anyone has posted about using atf in forks it’s him? Or an aversion to hagon progressive springs. Mobil of course. It does work well to be fair.

yeah , i know there can be no limit.. not even the sky for now, just make sure it stays reliable and for sure a braking improvement is a must. A friend of mien has an R6 front end with radial pump and its as nice as modern bike. about Mutts Nutts, unfortunally im bound to my location in the middle of nowhere.. You can fit the R6 brake calipers if you get some adaptor plates made from NK racing, if you want better brakes. NB dont chuck your old calipers out. Pure coincedence but i was just talking to a freind about standard RD brakes and we both think that the standard brakes regularly maintained and using a quality brake line are good enough you just have to squeeze a little harder. I have an R6 brake set up oon my RD and i find it a bit over the top. Again personal opinion.

Probably condensation in the oil, but to be sure regularly check your coolant level. If it's a new bike to you, i would suggest you get the engine nice and hot and change the gearbox oil. Not because of condensation but more for the oil quality as there is no oil filter and all the clutch plate particles just stay in the oil and settle in the bottom of the engine cases. yup, was going to do that as soon as i find the oil... hard to find Castrol MTX 10w40 any good alternatives? I have in the past tried a few different oils to see what was best and in the end i settled on a 75W transmission oil for my LC on the road. There's no special reason for this except i can use the same oil for my Land Rover gear box. I just believe in regular oil changes due to the friction material from the clutch plates building up in the oil.

I would say first make sure your cooling water system is working well and your bike can breath, exhausts are clean (de coke), air filter is good and not too oily and make sure your powervalves are in good working order.
Then a decent ignition system and VForce reeeds.

Tj, I don't have the welding gear or pillar drill to do it. My thoughts were that it's not a fastener that you use very much just install once and leave and that the Helicoil and non-standard stud would be OK? I Just think it's not so expensive to repair it and use a standard size stud compared to making sure an M10 stud fits your exhaust flange etc. If i understand you correctly your thinking of putting an M10 helicoil in the cylinder. Take a good look because i dont think theres much room for such a repair/mod.

Hello welcome to the forum. Los palmos is a favourite place for me. I used to go there a lot for some Dutch fishing boats, and i think new years eve in Los Palmos is really good, the party never seemed to stop until about 08:00 on new years day. It probably went on longer but i always had to turn up for work. It's a pity they emptied the seas of Mauratania of fish. Now they go to Chile and it's not quiite the same there. Oh i almost forgot to say i love the Honey Rum as well

Or weld it up and prick a new hole in it.
I have the same stepped studs you mention but only to be used in emergency situations.

When i first joined this forum i was using a pair of 250 carbs on my 400cc engine and i jetted them to suit the engine. I did not know there were different types carbs for the models. It had the classic small stumble but was still making just over 70 PK. Then after reading about the different types of carbs on this forum i thought i needed to get a set of 31K carbs. The end result was a lot more jetting changes and again similar performance.
It did make me think why do lots of people say use the 31K carbs.
I have had problems where the carbs have not worked properly and i have changed them because basically they have been too small for the state of tune.

Tim your bike is lovely. I really like Greeves motorcycles, they made some really funky front ends which I really like.
When it comes too refreshing the mechanicals, it's a trip up to Mr Whattam for a big bore kit and a dry clutch 😉
