Also turn the wheel 90 degrees and do the alignment check again. Do this 4 times so yo can see any discrepancies in the rear sprocket carrier.

Thanks chaps just ordered some from M&P, nothing fancy as I wanted small and subtle. Now we're on a cliff hanger to how they look 😁

Hi Tim I've got some small thin oblong indicators. They don't stand out and spoil the lines of a racer looking bike. I still haven't fitted them yet. They are a copy of a CNC Racing brand indicator called sequential Flow indicators.

Hi Rob, generally on the shelf or within a couple of days from order, you can get 250/350LC mid range pipes - in mild steel with FIXED ally end can - S/S pipes are normally order only 250/350LC F2 performance pipe - in mild steel with detachable ally end cans 350 YPVS F2 performance pipe - in mild steel with detachable ally end cans Hope that helps Do you get many requests for a 250cc specific set of pipes.

I can't really see the make of clutch basket used. One make of clutch basket (Hinson maybe) quotes not to use the gasket. Check to see if you need one with the manufacturer.

I defo believe in what Dave says, that 'best' is about 'horses for courses'. A racer's 'best' is usually all high reving bhp and a road rider who has to deal with town/city would want mid range with decent low rev torque. YMMV etc Yeah I totally agree with you there. Give the customer what he wants. I would say if the pipe builders have a good understanding of their work the differences will be small How do you gauge the best oŕ should I rephrase the most efficient pipe for your engine/bike?

yes you are right Gunny, I developed and tested those pipes on behalf of Tyga, while I was working on them I even put a poll up on this forum to gauge peoples thoughts on certain designs etc including "cross over" front pipes, some may remember it, well that info was feed back to Tyga who ended up going with the crossover front pipes, which is why they have them now - all thanks to members on this forum The pipes where designed as a more "all round" pipe, not too peaky and not totally useless at low rpm, they did want a mid range pipe, but since I had already developed that one I wasn't prepared at the time to share that design with them, plus I was already working with Jim at Alonze custom with the bulk of my pipes etc, and still do to this day, Jim makes all of my pipes once the designs are tested and finalised He generally keeps a couple of pre-made sets on the shelf so you can literally get them the next day HTH Something that does intrigue me is the area under the the BHP line of the dyno graph. Whether it is mid range or peak performance would the best performing pipe be the one with the biggest area? Have you got any thoughts on this?

I thought the idea on a track day was to lower them a style Not to increase the contact patch but to compensate for the higher running temp causing more expansion and raising the temp too much Steve Yeah look at the tyre wear and go up or down on pressure, With the emphasis of keeping heat in the tyre or not too much depending on your riding style and conditions.

Personally I prefer a painted frame. My last frame was powder coated because I know the man very well and it was easy to arrange. If it was the same situation with painting I would of chosen painting.
If your under pressure to deliver its very easy to take small short cuts to get the job done, which is not ideal.
I do this myself now and again (under pressure) and I hate it. Nobody can see my short cuts and maybe 2 years later they can see it but by then it's too late. People will say what's this and everyone will shrug their shoulders and say to the customer what have you done to the engine. Visually that's another story. You can see it straight away.
Sorry Alex I think your comment was to easy. I believe you always should try to look at the complete picture to understand what's happening.

He is, but at a steadier pace than previously. Ha ha you should be a politician. Just to make it clear I'm a big fan of Kenny's pipes. He also made the design of my big bore pipes which were built by PS Tuning. They work very good.

Folks with Hybrids.. What tyre pressures are you running? My tyres are Conti Race Attack Soft Front & Medium Rear. Sizes are 120/17 17" Front & 160/60 17" Rear. I'm thinking 24 PSI Front & 26 PSI Rear. Who's experience with trying different pressures? Cheers LCMarky I just stick to the recommended pressure quoted by the manufacturer. I do the same also on track days then look at the tyre and lower or higher the pressure. The funny thing is I'm not 100% sure if what I do is the correct action!

I think I should also add that I currently own a 650 Bandit from 2005 with it's original tyres. It had approximately 4000 miles on it. I've now put 7500 miles on it and locked the front wheel up twice with straight line braking and one very lucky save when I locked the front up on a roundabout due to not being seen by a car driver. The back tyre is almost worn out now but I plan to change them both. I've never really drove it hard but yes those tyres are too old and the front wheel locking up so easily is a sure sign they are too old.

Hi Alex I've used the Bridgestone 21 ans 22's and found them both to be good tyres. For budget concius people they are a good choice. The 21's were also good enough for me on trackdays. I'm just about to fit another 22 on my bike. Metal or wooden work benches are all good in my eyes, they only have to be sturdy. Even when they are sturdy its best to bolt them to the wall if possible to stop them moving when you are acting like King Kong whilst using the vice

That horn bracket is very trick very nice indeed. Excuse my ignorance when it come to printed parts, are these parts strong enough to support the parts that are bolted onto them?

I would say riding, but i do understand the importance of maintenance. For me riding a bike is an all year round thing.
Maintenance for me at the moment is;
Block 40% of my radiater off and rejet for the cold weather on my RD road bike
Prepare Bakker bike for next year trackdays. Check/clean brakes etc, change gear ratios in gearbox, Possibly fit quick shifter and dry clutch.
Remove dry clutch from 400cc engine inspect all parts improve/fix any teething problems and source/make new parts for a couple more dry clutches including making one for a 4LO using the 4LO engine casing, water pump etc.
Not too much to do and thats why i say riding only

The most difficult set of taps for me to get hold of was M5 with a very fine pitch it was used for reclaiming thread on old Keihin carbs, it took about 3 months to order them through my company. I could only source them from companies that deal with trade and not joe public.

... oh come on Tony, as you well know, you only need cutting paste / oil if your using your OWN taps and dies, if its the WORKS taps and dies you dont need any cutting paste at all ! Steven. Ha Ha that is mostly true, normally the customer has it onboard. There have been occasions where i have ordered the stuff and my colleagues have questioned why i have odered it. They have all been a bit on the younger side and still need to experience "being up shit creek without a paddle"

I would just like to add buy yourself a good cutting oil. It really makes all the difference and your taps will last longer especially when cutting titanium or stainlees metals.
I use Zettex cutting oil which comes in a spray can but my favourite is Roco, i've had a big tin of the stuff since i was an apprentice it's a bit like grease so you dab it on it works really well and stinks like hell.
