Simpson Star Wars helmet - one mean looking helmet and now available again. I had an original one gloss white black visor - meeeean. Shame not technically road legal over here though, I don't think. Remember around 1985 leaving the Donnington Park GP just leaving and a Policeman points at me and gestures pull over. I'm wearing my Simpson with black visor popered down closed, dayglo orange paddock jacket, 10 hole dm's and thinking oh shit gonna get done here for helmet and black visor. Pulled up and he put his hand straight over clocks and asked how many miles you done. Panicked thought of a number and was pretty close. On your way son and ride carefully. RD350YPVS - one of the most nicked bikes of the time. Those were the days oh to be 19 again.

Thanks for posting Steve that was fantastic. Riding 500 gap 2strokes around Mallory Park must be real exciting for the riders and what an amazing performance from Kevin Shwantz

I can remember seeing the Norton's at Donnington Park years back possibly early days of WSB when 750/4's were the bikes being run. The noise the Norton's made was so distinct and the speed down under the Donnington bridge was incredible just blew all the bikes into the weeds. Cannot remember where they finished though. Amazing bikes.

Considering its not finished I think the tank works (take off the Ducati sticker), seat could work but not 100% sure. Front end okay when matching rear wheel goes in. But really not sure on the linked intake, is this a Banshee mod for better torque, think I have read somewhere?

I bought a set of Jim Lomas pipes for my RD500 from Wolfgang at Young Timers Shop based in Austria. No import duties, no VAT, dead easy and quite a bit cheaper than I could buy them in the UK. Ooops sorry pre - Brexit.

Cracking job there best colours and model for me. Had one of these brand new 1st August 1984 which is also my birthday and the day when the new reg plates came out - B493 MFH - long since gone. Are you going to put a set of the original cigar pipes on her, not that it need them as does look good with the pipes you have on. Rich.

I have a pair of leathers like those worn by the rider on the red and white liquid cooled but air cooled chassis bike. Must have been circa 1982 when purchased them from I think Motorcycle City when they have one of their big reduction sales on, no internet buying then just travelled to the store which I think was in Nottingham possibly do remember it being cold and what seemed like a long way from Gloucester. Not sure they would fit now though, did look cool in the day though and good retro leathers today. Rich

My Mrs has a friend and her husband who practice Wim Hoff breathing and she joins them once a week to do breathing and wild water swimming in local lake and if not swimming in the lake in their back garden they have a barrel that they fill with cold water and then ice cubes and climb in for 2 minutes submerged upto their necks. But get this still wraps herself up in a blanket when watching tv and puts extra blankets on top of the bed at night meanwhile I sleep with just a sheet over me as she complains its cold - go figure. Then partway through the night i wake up boiling because all the extra blankets are now piled on top of me.

Love Harris Magnums especially Magnum 2's and 3's. Back in late 80's in Gloucester there was 1 750 turbo Mag 3 and 2 900r powered Mag 3's - absolutely superb. Always wanted one back then but could not afford one and still cannot now, shame.

There’s a young lad got to be early twenties just round the Lane from me got a Benelli 125 twin like the one in the brochure but in green. He past his test the other day and has a Moto Guzzi V50 in restored and in pretty good nick on I think a t Reg plate. His grandad gave him the little Benelli and he said it’s a keeper. Nice to see a youngster interested in these bikes

I do really fancy one of these. Test rode on 16 years ago and loved it but engine was burning oil despite being low mileage and mate who was workshop manager at the local Honda dealer who had the bike in tempted me to a urban tiger fireblade which do not get me wrong i was more than happy to purchase. In hindsight with me short stumpy 29 inch inside leg and now expanded belly the YZF would have been a better bet. Still have the Blade but one of these would be nice, Blade is tio toes and fully stretched reaching around the tank, but she is gorgeous. The guy who services my cars has what I call the Coilin Edwards colours YZF750R complete with a kerker exhaust nicely tucked away in his unit but cannot tempt him to part with it, shame. Rich

Yamaha 600 Thundercat - whole front end goes pretty much straight in. Need to fiddle about with ignition switch, i purchased an aftermarket one drilled out holes and fitted straight on to 600 yoke. Steering lock a bit restricted and bars only just clear tank. I used a 600 fazer rear wheel and swingarm with brackets welded on by NK Racing and installed a Nitron rear shock which allows for height adjustment. Looks good and works a treat.

DTR - lovely people Dennis and his wife and as abar121 said always a trail of punters at van at meetings and for years would be parked in the paddock during Manx GP and North Glos Road Racing meetings (probably still is but have not been for a few years now) dispensing spares, tyres, tyre warmers always amazed at what he used to have stashed away in his van. Bought alot from him over the years at meetings and online.
