nice work going on there kostas! quick question if I may, how did you adapt the seat lock to take your ignition key? I see how you got it out but how did you change it?
Thanks

Ignore me pulled the lock out and was obvious what I needed to do - I've never messed with locks before but job done now!
All the best with the project.

Thank you fellas,
Copper99 it is rewarding when you overcome those issues, this makes a very special bike to own, the one saved from the scrapyard!
More parts now needed for the engine!

Been out painting the engine parts today. Went for a satin finish even if standard would be gloss, I hope this does not make the bike a hybrid now! Just as I finished the clutch cover a bird decided to fly over and drop a bomb IMG_2295 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr I might have to redo this, The rest of the parts are decent to say the least IMG_2299 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr IMG_2303 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr IMG_2307 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr IMG_2309 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr IMG_2300 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr IMG_2298 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr Barrels painted silver as bare ally gets dirty very easy, seen this at midlifecrisis Steve avatar. Have all the the parts to complete the engine now. So next is the assembly ! Kostas

Thanks for the comments guys,
Had a bit of a set-back yesterday, Connected all the wiring together, the power valve is acting crazy, neutral light and headlight won't work, indicators won't work and when I tried to work those out the rev counter started smoking, so this now is a bit fried...
I left the bike earlier than planned a bit sad and frustrated...
I will let it sit for a week and come back.

Wow almost three months since last update! Had a break from the bike during Summer, too much work as this is high season for me, also I took a couple of weeks off and wend on my favourite island to chill out. But I have been collecting the last missing bits and I will now storm to the finish.. Need to have the bike ready by next summer (April). So I had the pipes de-coked, used a Mapp-gas torch from both ends, lots of smoke and bits of crap.. IMG_0065 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr IMG_0066 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr More to follow.. So update, Sorted the blown tachometer, got one from a guy on here, swapped the internals with mine as it was already painted and I'm good to go IMG_2793 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr Exhaust painted twice as stupid J&B weld popped out as I was baking the BBQ paint.. I now officially hate doing exhausts IMG_2772 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr IMG_2797 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr IMG_2794 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr New hanger washers, cheated on the bolts, didnt want to pay new so just fitted domed s/s nuts IMG_2803 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr Fitted a new o-ring chain also got a stupidly expensive riveting tool for that. Have to put oil fuel and anti-freeze and stard it up! Kostas
