Hi all, Been away in Turkey for a few days so did not have much done, Got my nuts and bolts cleaned and plated, will it qualify for a full nut and bolt rebuild now? IMG_1279 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr Came out very bright gold, so I maybe blast some and have those done again, not sure yet Got the swingarm seals, bushings fitted, first parts that come together again IMG_0037 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr and started cleaning my wiring, which will take some time and I hope when complete all swiches do what they suppose to do.. IMG_0038 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr Have not touched my engine yet.. I'm afraid of what I find inside, I just noticed that there is some play at the flywheel side of the crankshaft. Bearings must be shoot Cheers Kostas

Whaaaat? Damn bro, you're almost at the finish line now. You'll make it if you just keep putting some work into it! Piece by piece, don't give up! Don't think about time pressure, JUST DO IT. Do something every day (or as often as you can) without stressing it. You'll be surprised at how much you can do in, let's say 1 month, if you JUST DO IT.

Thanks for the support guys, I have two demons in my head, one says to finish it and ride it and the other one to be patient and take it slow to do it propertly. I assembled the chasis with the wheels to see some results, Im very happy with the result so far IMG_1396 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr IMG_1398 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr fitted the rear wheel.. IMG_1401 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr steering bearings with re-cromed cover IMG_1402 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr Top and lower steering yokes with re-cromed top yoke bolt IMG_1404 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr and finaly forks, wheel and clip-ons IMG_1404 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr IMG_1428 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr Then I just sat there and look at the thing for an hour Hope you like it!!

Hi fatfastroger, All paint job done with Sikkens premium quality car paints. There is a black coat and then satin clear laquer on top. Done with spray gun, I just hate how rattle can paint fades over time. I'm planning to paint the bodywork by myself also. Only thing I outsourced so far was the frame powder coating and welding I find my bike much more exciting than the helicopter parked next to it ;D

That's the way to get that hub out, wish there was a similar to get it off the plastic petrol cap, The release clip is out of reach in there.
Have done some more work on the bike but been to busy to post some pictures. Also I fell in love with a mint KR1-S last sunday.. Been a couple of decades since I've seen one up close, and this was a piece of art.
So I have to finish my beauty and hit the streets fast!

Hi Guys, Made some progress over the last days, Finsihed with repairing the wiring which had a lot of taped connections with the wires just twisted together, no solder, no heatshrink.. Soldered everything replaced some connectors and is now ready to fit. Finished with painting and sorting the wiring on the clocks IMG_1479 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr Also finished with the switchgear, with a decal kit from Norbo, IMG_1530 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr here is a before picture IMG_1476 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr one of those had a crack on it, IMG_1483 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr Had to grind it a bit and repair it with JB Weld. Came out nice IMG_1525 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr So much work for just a couple of small bits. Kostas

Thank you all for your comments,
You may have a slow progress there Kennyroberts with your F2 rebuild but I think yours will be one of a kind bike. Yours is one of the re-builds that made me go for a resto in the first place.
Doing it yourself is an amazing experience, you can get a good bike to ride even a mint one with less than the rebuild cost, but I don't think its worth it at all.
Keep it up!!

Well is has been over 3 months since the last time I worked on the bike. Summer weather is hard to handle, it gets more than 40 degrees C in the hangar, so a trip to the nearest beach is always the first option. Anyway I sourced a nice straight headlight/fairing bracket from e-bay and last week I fitted this on with the clocks installed on it. IMG_1825 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr IMG_1827 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr It was after that when I realised that it all needs to came off again so I can repair the fairing lugs and fit it on the bracket first I'm so happy that winter is finally back, I have to speed up to get the bike ready for next summer..
