Got the older LC out (the one for sale ) and started it up and went round the block but found with the engine running I can't get out of first to neutral.
Bike was fine last time it was out (about 7 months ago) and I had even put new oil in gearbox before lay up.
The clutch is all adjusted correctly so must be clutch plates ?
Do you think it will ease off with a few more miles or need to check the plates ?

Think it was a blockage in the airscrew jet block, not the pilot jets. You take the 2 security screws out to remove jet block and it reveals tiny little holes

The Fluctuating tacho, I put a bit of oil in and it has stopped the fluctuation! Tried with the drill several times to get it to flutter and it didn't. Held the drill speed at different RPM'S too and needle stayed steady. Messing with my head now LOL😆

Well that was frustrating...
Bit fiddly but fitted the spare tacho which then proceeded to screech 🙈 So I did have a spare ,spare, but that one was the one if I ever did the third build. I was quicker fitting the third one and hopefully this one is ok
Hopefully the screeching one can be repaired ?
I can see why folks fit aftermarket stuff but the clocks are iconic even on a Hybrid IMO
An electronic tacho using the LC clock face with the original temp guage would be nice

Booger So I guess you have loads of scrap mechanisms Shaun 🤯🤯
I do have a spare to try so next question is can I leave the clock bracket connected and just get the tacho out or do I have to remove the whole assembly to get in there ? I remember putting it together and had a headache routing the wiring correctly

Blimey didn't know it had damper fluid in it
When you say replace the mechanism, is that the whole lot or or just a certain part ?

LC Tacho has started playing up The needle from about 4000rpm is moving about. I did put a new clock face on this a few years ago and thought everything looked OK inside 😢

Think it's the left cylinder but will look again tomorrow.
It has Lomas GP style pipes so end cans are piggy backed
Jetting and settings have remained the same since engine was built and over 500 miles now and was running OK at those RPM'S before

Over the years I have taken these carbs apart so many times I can do it with my knob 🍌 But have a problem now I can't seem to fix Idle is fluctuating but as soon as you give it a sniff of throttle it pick up OK.
The other thing is as you shut throttle, instead of just burbling it starts to buck about and snatch. Thinking now could it be electrical and what processes could I do to nail the problem

First heard this on the Tommy Vance show one night and as I was a massive fan this recording was the holy grail and only on super rare expensive vinyl at the time. They then mass released it on CD for the vagrants to buy 🤩

One interesting video was where he changed the reg/rec on a Honda CBR and the replacement part from Honda was nearly £300 He bought a Tourmax replacement at less than half that and there was a code/stamp on the Honda part and the Tourmax one was exactly the same manufacturer. Tourmax had put one of their stickers over the code

I ended up breaking the inner cage out and that leaves the outer shell which has a lip at the top and after I gave it some heat with a heat gun I used a flat screwdriver and tapped under the lip and came out quite easy
