Alarm is always my 1st suspicion with advanced electronics, I remember the Moss DIY alarms had a tendency to shut electronics off, or caused weird intermittent problems, removed the alarms from plenty of cars and the problems went away with the alarms.

I had a rover sd1 with every sensor bypassed, because I couldn't afford the sensors or switches, just like in the video, jumpers across connections.

Electrics are really quite easy once you see wiring diagram and realise that its all colour to colour and 1 colour is for a certain item or items.

I was buying an Audi 90 quattro in the nineties i was checking under the bonnet noticed a plug off the alarm so i pushed it back on , all the windows went up and the doors locked eith the keys in the ignition and running ,it took them 45 mins to get the door open 😬i still bought it but removed the alarm

One interesting video was where he changed the reg/rec on a Honda CBR and the replacement part from Honda was nearly £300
He bought a Tourmax replacement at less than half that and there was a code/stamp on the Honda part and the Tourmax one was exactly the same manufacturer.
Tourmax had put one of their stickers over the code
