Gents. Can anyone recommend an engine compression tester that has the scharder valve in the end off the flexible tube that screws in the plug hole. Many thanks Mark. Can i ask why? Out of interest

It should work well enough; "thats what its for" etc. It'll work until the bearing dies, it'll seize and cause you more grief and now youve a bit of a mess of glue to clean up as well. Ive always felt its a bit of a bodge but it seems its pretty well accepted as a fix these days. But is it a 'get you another mot fix' or the real deal... hmm... (same with the punch version... its not a real fix, but gets you out of trouble) Always remember... if you do a crank bearing... ONLY DO ONE CASE SIDE! Well I won’t mention using a cut up coke can as a shim then oops i just did😬 was’nt me by the way

I do have a couple of spare fuses they are rcd,the cable will be buried and about 5m from the house , i was thinking i might get a lathe (usually after a couple of beers) i will get a parts washer and piller drill but it mainly for bike building as I don’t get peace in my garage these days whenever i open my garage i have a neighbour asking for help (they are all in their eighties)

I’d plus one for Sportsbikeshop. Wide range of different brands and you can order it to the store to try before you buy. I wanted a pair of Hood jeans as a they came out top in a load of tests. They’re really well specced and made and their customer service is brilliant. Problem is they just don’t fit me. Different stuff fits different people I guess - Shoei lids fit me brilliant, Arai don’t, and don’t get me started with cycling gear - poshboy italian gear and I’m XXXL, British stuff I’m an L. I got hood jeans i sent them back for alterations it was no problem and no cost to me , but they are just too heavy with the armour fitted they look good though

Fit tie wraps every couple of inches pulled tight all the way round then blow it up the tyre spreads instead of getting taller and eventually pops on the bead ,i had to do this when fitting tyres to my lc2 ,i also used warm tyres. I now pay to get them done

Welcome, the guys here really are a font of all knowledge, so if it's out there , you will find out. My lc has the heaviest clutch known to man , new springs, new cable and a long lever haven't really helped much, so I'm thinking a hydraulic one myself to. The only one iv found so far to purchase is from NK Racing, does look nice. Digger. What did you fit ? What most fit is standard springs and a genuine cable run correctly ,usually sorts the problem although its still not as light as other bikes.

I didn’t enjoy fitting the one i did , i put the bearing in the freezer, the casing was just heated in the boiler cupboard as it had just been painted tapped in with a socket it wasn’t easy , I think i would make a dolly next time that fits inside the bearing to keep it straight
