Hi Tout, The Shraeders are the originals that came with the forks. I removed them and polished the separately. Hope you find yours - they are no longer available from Yamaha Dusty

As always mate, it looks better than new. You can get some snazzy dust caps with the tuning fork logo on. I have them on my wheels.

Yea, it's only there temporarily ! Looked even worst when I first dug it out of a box. Another part/s that I've stripped and refurbed are the seat catches. Bought these some time back - Generation 1 VMax catches; 20231220_213323 by dusty miller, on Flickr Not lockable, but that doesn't bother me. I wasn't prepared to pay the silly money that Lc catches go for, and these bolt straight on and work as they should. There is a pair on ebay at the mo for a tenner ! A great substitute if you need catches but at a bargain price Dusty

The cases have been vapour blasted, but were put in a parts washer first. I usually get as much muck off myself first, but dropped them off with Jamie at very short notice, so they were literally caked in crud.

Started bolting a few parts on now. When I got the Fzrd, it came with a new Dyna coil and Taylor leads. It can be mounted on it's side, but it makes the HT lead run a bit more difficult with an airbox fitted, so 2 small "L" brackets mount it upright. Fits under the tank with no bother; 20231227_172635 by dusty miller, on Flickr Just need to sort 2 stand off spacers and then paint the brackets. The missus bought me a Yss shock for Xmas, so fitted that today; 20231227_172643 by dusty miller, on Flickr Which meant the newly refurbed swingarm could go in; 20231227_172703 by dusty miller, on Flickr 20231227_172623 by dusty miller, on Flickr I've got a badly cut rear mudguard so need to see if I can salvage that, and clean up the battery box next. Still bolting some refurbed parts back on. The Cdi unit is an aftermarket unit from a firm in Belgium called HPI; 20231230_180353 by dusty miller, on Flickr It came off the Fzrd and was working before I took the engine out of that bike, so should be ok on this build. I did have to open out the mounting holes slightly so they would line up with the mudguard mount; 20231230_182015 by dusty miller, on Flickr I did manage to salvage the very rough rear mudguard that I had. It had been cut badly - uneven on both sides, and looked like it had been done with tinsnips !! Some careful Dremelling and sanding got it looking much better, and symmetrical !. Wish I had done before and after pics but the phone was on charge when I started so didn't get any. It's good enough to go on now so that has saved me finding another. Also cleaned up the rear tray and the battery box. The Reg/rectifier also got a good clean. The oil and coolant overflow tanks went on, having been cleaned some time back; 20231230_182803 by dusty miller, on Flickr 20231230_184040 by dusty miller, on Flickr 20231230_184045 by dusty miller, on Flickr The rear tray needs a bit more work. It was already cut and a nasty tin bracket, rivetted to the sides held the recessed rear light, so I will recess the light again, but with a better bracket. 20231230_184358 by dusty miller, on Flickr And lastly for now, I picked my cases up from Jamie yesterday. He had gone over them again since the past pics I posted. Absolute star ! I was a bit embarrassed about how manky they were when I dropped them off (last minute decision so I hadn't prepped them), but he has done a stellar job; 20231230_184409 by dusty miller, on Flickr Dusty

Been refurbing small bits and bobs recently, which is actually really rewarding as well as saving a few quid. The rear light that came with the job lot of parts late last year was beyond repair, so I did have to buy a new pattern one, plus I bought 4 new clock bracket mounting rubbers for the top yoke as the ones I found in a spares box were not as nice as I hoped. I could only find one metal spacer that goes in the rubbers, but, by luck, I had a length of tube that was exactly the right internal and external dimensions, so I cut it to length and cleaned it up; 20240105_162852 by dusty miller, on Flickr 20240105_162844 by dusty miller, on Flickr As I'm trying to keep costs down, I'm raiding the spares boxes for parts that have been deemed "not fit" in the past. The shortened, chromed brake pedal; 20240105_163335 by dusty miller, on Flickr And two side pieces of a cut coil cover. I cant remember where these came from, but I got them like this. The price of coil covers means I am more than happy to bolt just these sides on to hide the wiring that will sit below the coil; 20240105_162921 by dusty miller, on Flickr They will get lightly rubbed down and refinished. Alex very kindly gave me a pair of footrest hangers that had been vapour blasted. I didn't intend fitting pillion pegs on this build, so I cut them off and polished them; 20240108_162140 by dusty miller, on Flickr I actually prefer the hangers without the rear peg facility, and have done it on a couple of previous builds. It actually helps with clearance for the swingarm too. The rear tool tray had been cut previously and the old rear light had been poorly fixed in with some strips of ali. The tray is another expensive part second hand, so I wanted to use this one. 2 cheap L brackets and some rubber to give some cushioning against vibration got the new rear light fixed in position - very slightly recessed from standard, but in the right place; 20240108_162128 by dusty miller, on Flickr 20240108_162233 by dusty miller, on Flickr This will be a 250 build ultimately. I'm using the 250 frame that came with the Kr running gear, but a lot of the other parts are from the 350 framed project I picked up last year, and some Swiss 250 parts that are left over, plus parts from spares boxes dating back years, so a real mishmash, but I think I can get a nice rolling chassis up together. There are some big ticket items to get though, so things will start to slow up as the chassis gets finished. Dusty
