I'd be interested to hear how they go too no worries happy to provide feedback but they are for a future project so wont be anytime soon. I read as many reviews as i could find and they seemed to be very positive. Im not looking for huge gains, just better noise and not have to scrape the barrels ive already been right to the bottom of for yet another set of OEMs that would need a lot of repairs. There are so many pipes on the Webike site. Which particular one did you opt for?

Just the cheapest K2TEC side by side ones in mild steel. no sense buying stainless as that brings it to the same price as the ones from the uk.

Very quick delivery from Webike Japan. Ordered on Friday delivered on Monday. Worth the extra $20 for Fedex. A benefit of them having their own planes.

A while since I posted progress here. I found a 250 oil pump had been fitted The weather has changed somewhat. Over 30C in the garage the last few days but I have persisted. Dropped the oil, took off the right exhaust and engine cover to remove the 250 oil pump shaft and fit a 350 one. Shimmed the oil pump to 0.3mm. Found the proper black oil hoses and clips. Bled the oil pump. Bled the brakes. That was a saga but they came good after getting all the air out of the master with little squeezes watching a tiny stream of bubbles come out of the very small hole. Filled with coolant. Plugged holes as coolant appeared. Mainly bolts with new washers that needed to be tightened. Went over every nut and bolt, tightening, tightening, tightening. Checked the spark, a bit weak but there. Charged the battery again.

Going to be using these everywhere on my next build. Or might package some up with made up part numbers and chance it on eBay.

Impossible to shift to neutral when running. Going back in to adjust and maybe do the shift star mod or clean up the neutral indent. Some coolant leaks appearing on new hoses. Carbs leaking when engine not running. (Found the 4L0 carbs I had cleaned up and cannot work out where the ones I fitted came from.) (Or why I fitted them without noticing.)

Coolant is weeping from all around the head gasket. Retorqued the head bolts but still leaking. Head off and another gasket I think. Maybe resurface the head and cylinders. No sign of coolant in the cylinders so only leaking to the outside.

Carbs that are leaking are 4L0 but not the ones I cleaned up. Think I will have to set up a fuel feed to check for leaks and levels before reinstalling. Carbs came off ok as all the rubbers are quite flexible, not like I remember battling with them back in the day with the AC when we were having fun putting in very large mains. Found a set of Lectron carbs I had on another bike. Wonderful what turns up when you have a serious cleanup.

Did you copper spray the gasket? Good idea Jon. Just did a search and saw other people's experiences.

Drained the tank and refilled with new fuel. Reinstalled the head gasket with permatex copper spray gasket. Cleaned the carbs and wrestled them back on. Made sure the plugs were sparking. New coolant and gaskets. Quite a few kicks and it started on one and then finally the other. Adjusted the idles. Now starts first kick or if I empty the carbs second kick. No leaks so far. Oil is flowing and exhaust is smoking just right. All lights work. Adjusted the new horns so they sound now. Out of the box - nothing. Just need some baffles now and a bit of body work and paint. And tyres. The list is endless.

First ride on the bike up to the bike shop for BT46 tyres. Took a while to warm up and run smoothly on the way there. Lot of smoke to start with but that calmed down to a nice not so smoggy wisp. On the way back I gave it some beans and it was a little rough leading up to 6000rpm then it took off. I had gone down to three springs on the clutch because the lever action was very hard but will have to put them back in as it slipped when the power came on.

Great that its back on the road Chris! Good to feel that powerband come on again. Last two stroke I rode on the road was an AC RD350 in the early 80's. No filters and 240 main jets, would pick the front wheel up on gear changes.

Back to six springs and the clutch lever feel is not that bad. Australian GP on now so might test ride tomorrow.

Are you using 6 brand new OEM springs Chris? Thats what works best really.
Old springs are always no good, just replace em. Cheap to do too.

New springs that came with the clutch but when I put them in it felt too stiff. Seems fine now.

Comes from reading too much stuff on the various fora that is not quite right. Standard from now on for everything. They were heavy duty Banshee springs. Probably not needed as you say Jonw.

Baffles turned up. One week delivery UK to Aus. Maybe things are getting back to normal. Sounds much better now. Sanding and filling the side covers and tailpiece this weekend. Happy Easter.

Took it out for a longer run. No leaks, performed well, runs out quickly to over 9k after hitting the 6k powerband, very quiet with the new baffles. I thought it was a bit smoky at first but it cleared up nicely. Low oil light works as it came on down a very steep hill near home. Topped up the fuel and oils. Checked the tyre pressures on the new BT46's, front was a bit low.
Still very hard to get into neutral when running. Topped up the engine oil and adjusted the clutch.
Tacho noise (that I have read about elsewhere) was very loud. Took the cable off, lubricated it and rerouted to give a more direct connection on the tacho. Seems a bit quieter but it is coming from inside the tacho and depends on the angle of the cable.

Commuted today 60km there and back. Cold and wet this morning so took it very carefully. Only 12 corners and a freeway there but I was very careful, alright call me timid. Raining on the way home but the bike performed well. Suspension is just right for my style of riding, any harder and it would be uncomfortable. Feels a bit soft but soaks up all the bumps without wandering all over the place. All good apart from the clocks, needles jumping everywhere and the noisy tachometer. Might swap for another set and fit LED dash lights as I could hardly see a thing in the evening.
