Good news Steve. Another job off the list. Sounds like your man is on the ball and quite thorough in his assessment of components. Good enough for normal use but not so on a tuned motor. Must be close. Get the old one on eBay lol. Your affliction for collecting expensive parts sounds oh so familiar 😁 John. Yes I do seem to have a large collection of expensive parts that aren't bolted together 🤣 I'll let him keep the old rods as I've heard people say he has given stuff away to keep a bike on the road Steve

Good job!
Courier to collect is definitely the way. It was more potholes than road the last time I was there.

Hope the courier has a drivers mate to help lift it !! Good news Steve, another big part of the jigsaw sorted Tell me about it, 22 feckin kilo's I sorted the courier myself as he was going to send Parcelforce. Don't think he knew as you found they don't cover bike parts So unfortunately it was another £36 for UPS to deliver but the mill getting damaged confirmed the extra money for insurance is worth it Pipe fabrication will be the next biggie 😓 Steve

Decided before the pipes get made I'd ideally have to have the LH engine case fitted in case it affects things
Spoke to BDK and about to be parted with my money again 😫
New magnesium RH cover to convert to RGV generator
New magnesium LH case and cover Pick up plate with 3 pick ups, ignition rotor, new water pump drive gears, 3 coils and zeeltronic programmable ignition unit.
I bought a Fireblade a few years ago for less 😭

Jeez have you no finished yet Only 2 years so far. I think that’s on track. I haven’t touched mine for a year and a half, as I’ve been redoing the kitchen. Once the weather warms up I must bring myself round to continuing. Jon

What is the part in the last pic for Steve ?

What is the part in the last pic for Steve ? It's the water pump and tacho gear drive shaft The original set up uses a plastic gear (it always splits) and is driven off a ring gear on the started clutch The starter clutch is ditched so it now runs off a new gear on the shaft the rotor for the ignition pic ups runs on. The new water pump shaft gear is pressed on so I had to send it down to get modded and new bearings fitted The original shaft is not meant to be rebuilt but it's NLA so needed modded Steve

I like the spendy box.
I also agree on the gradual stealth purchases. That way you don’t get hit with the reality hammer on just how much our hobbies actually cost. Of course you have to apply the cash reduction adjustment factor when the boss discreetly enquires on how much those lovely parts cost. We all do it 😂
Looking good Steve.

John Must admit I got a funny sideways look as I was unwrapping the BDK box, a pair of tyres, the Guilly seat, the yokes, a box from Fowlers, a box from UAE and a bearing puller kit 😬 Luckily the Seat was the biggest box and the biggest transformation so think I just got away with it 😅 I'm in trouble when the LC frame and bits arrive 🤨 Steve

Hi - been watching this with interest. I built a TR750 (as close to original as I could), with BDK dry clutch ign case, throttle; they also did the porting and O ringed barrels. With the right pipes the bike is surprisingly quick. Gets very lively about 6000 and pulls like a train up to around 8300... I have VM38s on it and they worked straight out of the box, only had to tweak the pilots jets up one size to make it run cleaner low down. if I knew how to post pics on this board/forum I’d drop one of the bike on here - keep you encouraged to get it completed. If you have any questions I’d be happy to share my experience. Cheers
