Anyone ever had a mitaka piston with a circlip groove that isn’t deep enough I can see daylight between the clip and the piston?

Are the circlip too thick
Can you check them against the ones you took out

The groove tapers out at the gap well there’s no groove the other groove is the opposite ,the other pistons seem ok I think I’ll need to send this one back

If it is solid and from aluminium you can fix it with aluminium solder.

You gonna try re anodising the frame?
Was talking to Mike at Able last week and he said he had done some bike bits
They were black and the only issue was the cast sections were a slightly different shade
May be worth getting the anodising removed then get it vapoured then either scotchbrite then anodised or just anodised depending on what the finish is

never though about the vapour blasting but he said to bring it back when I was happy with the finish ,I’ll see what he says when I take the frame up

Dusty No he’s too far away I’ll get a set of pipes of him next he’s already had the cranks gave it a big bore kit ( now 465cc)he’s got the carbs just now to bore them to 31.5mm also fleeced me for billet disc valve covers bored to the carbs, ill take it to mutts dyno maybe get an ignitech fitted when it’s on its wheels |
