I was taking the pee buddy I have had loads of people ask me about it and I have shared all the information freely and gladly. It is a compliment and I have been clear that my bike is influenced by pb in the 80s and I have ripped them off There isn’t anything new or unique in our bikes eg mine Tz top end done before mechanical anti dive done before hybrids done before. You definitely haven’t upset me 😀 Thank god!! It just highlights my lack of imagination anyway!! Ill mention Veg designs If anyone ever asks 👍

Honestly you don’t need to, if you read my build I have mentioned the interest in the design and how I am happy to advise

A massive step forward today!!!
New bits fitted
Battery and new wiring Brand new rectifier - the original had less than optimal connections that were too small fiddley to do anything about Ignition
Plugged it all in...and after my loom re-do I am very happy to say everything is working as it should, all lights, hi/low, brake...and a spark !!!!!!!
Im really happy, it wasn't something I was looking forward to doing and I also fitted a blade fuse box whist I was at it. It just shows, taking time and studying the diagrams really pays off. The only thing that wasn't working was the indicator flasher relay, if I tap it it works, so all in all a perfect result, apart from a dicky part

Well done, this sort of thing can a always give you a good buzz if you have done it for the first time

Brilliant - great news I've had loads of duff flasher relays in the past - nearly always pattern items. Electrics are my least favourite part of any build, but with time and patience, you can achieve success !! A colour wiring diagram from Kojaycat makes life a lot easier too . Dusty

The engine is now fully completed, tad hoses and air filters fitted, as well as an oil pump cover. Once the rear muddy is fitted it’s ready go go off to Mutts for pipes!!!! I’ve also got to sort the steering lock so the tank doesn’t get damaged, just waiting for some stainless to be delivered

A busy day today.
Something I should have done earlier, but without a tank, pretty difficult. I had to drill and thread (tap/die?) bolts in to the bottom yoke to stop the tank getting damaged, I had some nylon machine block passed from a friend that did the job nicely. The ignition also needed fitting to the top yoke key hole, which fitted without any drama, , 0.5mm filing and straight on.
Getting all of the wiring in the headlight was a pain, managed it though.
So, getting forks and yokes off, drilling bar locks, and getting all wiring where it should be was enough for me today.
Jobs left before it handed to Muttsnuts
brake fluid Coolant clutch lever wait for metal rear muddy from Norbo to get the rear light fitted
Oh yes the neutral light is working, fully functional electrics (yes apart from new relay needed)

Well that’s it, all little bits done! All cosmetic bits now removed and ready to go to Muttsnuts. Before anyone points it out the front brake hose has been re-routed I’ve also put the rear indicators on.

you must be well pleased , nearly finished and looking as good as that , stunning Well chuffed! Also relieved, I can understand why some builds don't make it to completion, there are quite a few "this is doing my head in" moments, particularly the financial side. A few posts ago I calculated I needed £3k to finish, it was more like £4k. Its essentially a new bike, it had to be, i had no other option, I started with a frame and bottom end. Below is a bit of a list.. Fully Rebuilt LC engine (4L1 Bottom), 350 Head. That's a hell of a bike she looks stunning you really have done an exemplary job of her just make sure now she's finished she either lives in the house at night or that you have somewhere resembling Fort Knox to keep her in coz there are some real lowlife scumbags out there that would love nothing better than to deprive you of all that glistens and gleams ... as Norbo and Midlife will attest to
