Do you know which way he went with the +4 crank. Was it a special crank shaft or did the tuner machine the crankcases for a YPVS crankshaft?

Not much to report!! Going is very slow due to funds at an all time low right at the time all the expensive stuff needs to be ordered and made.. Tank, Paint, Exhausts, Carbs etc...
I have managed to finally get the hydraulic clutch system fitted although it's being a pig to bleed up properly! The Front Toki 6 pots have also been a pig to bleed, but they have finally come good and i now have a good feel on the fronts.. I still need to get the rear lines made up something i have been putting off for a while as i wanted to make sure i have everything correct..

Hi Mark I know how you feel ! Could be a couple of £k in that little list It's amazing how these builds just drain the money from the pot. Still, it will be an awesome special when it's done. Trouble I have is when one is done, I want to start the whole process all over again !! I'll never be "money rich" !! Dusty

My 400 hybrid colour scheme will be standard decals over non standard paint. I'm thinking Ford "Tangerine Scream" this time with black wheels, engine cases, frame etc, so somewhere between a Kenny Roberts yellow and the Orange I had on my last Lc hybrid $_86[1] by dusty miller, on Flickr Dusty

Top notch build the detail is excellent, well done. Dusty I did mine in tangerine scream with kenny decals, the pic doesnt show the colour very well it looks much better in the flesh.

I've been over and over different colour options even got to a spray out from Mark cordwell but now gone off that colour a bit back to the start for colours!! I still need to order a new tank first anyway..
New seat foam is on order with norbo, I need a colour choice so i can chose the material for the New custom seat cover.

Well it seems the old girl is suffering a little with incontinence, First off water pump plate was slightly bent/warped now i am on the second Gearbox Gasket i bought from norbo and she still has a minor drip of Gearbox oil.. All the bolts have been torqued up to equally to 8NM , All nipped up by hand first. There was me thinking i was going to have issues with the clear window!!
I have put a straight edge and also cleaned up both gearbox and cover faces to make sure there was no stove enamel or gime causing the leak but now i am stumpt!!

I normally stick the gasket to the cover side with Loctite 5910 sealant. Its more like a glue. Then on the other side i tend to put a smidge of non hardening sealant on the engine where the 2 halves are butted together.
I do the above to cut down on the chance of leakage and i don't find it a problem if the gasket stays on the cover when i remove it.

Thanks Tobyjugs I was going to use some 3bond but i never like using sealant with gaskets, I will order some more gaskets and try a gen Yam one, if that fails i will get out the glue

Great build. A real inspiration for me Thanks Mate... I started of by looking at peoples build threads, Originally i wanted to do a resto until i saw some of the 4L0 hybrid builds and that was it, just been plodding along slowly getting there!!! This Forum is Great for newbies like myself for info and where to source parts or what fits with what etc..

I tend to use sealant with gaskets - even new Yamaha ones ! The trick is to not put too much on - a very thin smear is enough on a new gasket against a clean mating surface. I know it probably isn't required but I see it as more protection against leaks, especially base and inlet gaskets where a leak could be very expensive !! Each to their own !! Dusty

hi mark , can I ask if you used the Brembo brake light switch with the RCS19 master , as I am after a radial master and a little put off by the length of the banjo bolt type switch that would have to be used on other brands of master cylinder.
as for your colour dilemma , with it being such a quality build I think it could look really classy with a mars or bounty standard paint scheme mart
